This Can’t Be Real
Many of my friends and family have confided that living through the last 16 months of a Covid 19 infected world has felt like a surreal nightmare. How about you?
The world certainly wasn’t perfect by any means in January 2020. But it took a turn for the worse shortly afterwards. Everything about everyone’s lives – family, job, school, church changed dramatically. As a race, we adapted, of necessity. We met less face to face and more electronically. Because it was forbidden in many parts of the world to assemble or congregate. In the early stages of the Covid 19 hysteria, it seemed like the right thing to do in the face of the unknown.
We were told to do things never imaginable, all in the name of health and protecting each other, like staying away from one another, even if you had no symptoms of illness. We were told that the virus could spread by asymptomatic individuals. That theory, like many other ideas that changed behaviors is wrong. The whole world “masked up,” in an effort to “stop the spread” of the disease. Intelligent people, who should know better, advised universal mask wearing despite knowing that a virus can easily penetrate any cloth or paper mask because it is 500,000 times smaller than the gaps in the mask. They are useless, and many medical authorities said so at the beginning, including the National Institute of Health physician, Dr. Anthony Fauci, who became the de-facto Covid Czar for the entire world. Even as many parts of the United States have opened for business, some few mask-wearing adherents are still convinced of the health benefit of wearing masks. The commonsense understanding that wearing the same mask repeatedly, day after day is probably going to create more health problems than it solves escaped the sensibility of many otherwise reasonable people. The masks people wear, as if proselytes of a zany new religion are filled with germs, bacteria, and other pathogens that can be deadly, by themselves.
Mask wearing was also very popular, and thought to be essential, in the epidemic of 1918, and up to 75 to 100 million died during that time. But according to research done by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (the same agency that Dr. Fauci works for) the predominant cause of death during that time was not the virus, but bacterial pneumonia. The study, published by the agency in 2008, show that pathologists of the day were unanimous in their conviction that most deaths were caused by a secondary, bacterial infection, pneumonia, and not the virus itself. This was before the age of antibiotics. The paper continues; “Indeed, the availability of antibiotics during the other influenza pandemics of the 20th century, specifically those of 1957 and 1968, was probably a key factor in the lower number of worldwide deaths during those outbreaks.” Is it just coincidence that during both pandemics, mask wearing in the most heavily affected areas was universal?
Early on in 2020, several doctors showed that an effective cocktail of the antibiotic Zithromax (Z Pak), zinc and the common, inexpensive anti malaria and rheumatology drug hydroxychloroquine proved to be an effective treatment for patients infected with the novel coronavirus. Many of these physicians were shamed, silenced, or forbidden by Governors of several states, such as New York and Michigan to prescribe these drugs for their infected patients. This was a historic first. Patients were dying, physicians were convinced of the efficacy of the drug cocktail, yet many were fired for publishing their results and speaking out. Elected officials banned the use of products that were proven in some parts of the country to save lives and help people recover. In another time, the public would be convinced that such action was criminal. There should have been outrage. But mostly there wasn’t.
Adding to the bizzarro world like quality of Covid, big tech and big media joined ranks to suppress the voices of those who dared question the official versions of the pandemic promulgated by the government or mainstream media outlets. Freedom of speech wasn’t totally lost in the United States in 2020. But it has been lost incrementally, along with other freedoms – like assembly, and the loss of freedom has been much worse in nations like Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia. Canada has jailed ministers whose crime was holding a church service. People in Britain have been savagely beaten and taken into custody by the police for not wearing a mask while out for a walk, and in Australia, a woman was forcibly separated from her infant child and hustled into a police van, and taken to jail for peacefully and silently holding a sign, on the street, protesting the government lockdowns, which in that nation have been a symbol of totalitarian overreach.
In all of this, the message has been universal; “you will comply, or you will be punished.” And comply we did. We stopped seeing our friends. We were stopped from doing anything the government deemed non-essential, like going to school, going to work (in many cases) or going to church. What we found out most of all is that common sense can be suspended if the mandates forbidding behaviors are bold, authoritative, and draconian. Interestingly, behavior modification was worldwide. No corner of the globe has been untouched. It is as if the whole world has been in lock step.
Where might all of this – Covid 19 — the most significant event of the 21st century – fit into the framework of end-time Bible Prophecy?
Perhaps you disagree with some of our assertions regarding the true nature of the Pandemic. Do you believe every government official or social media site has been forthright with you? Are you of the opinion that if you are told you must be vaccinated to stay healthy, that you will do so? Do you believe that it is necessary for everyone to be vaccinated for society to return to “normal?” Do you believe that the unvaccinated pose the greatest health risk to everyone else?
Well, some do! And these new mandates are being proposed now. And the control of information and suppression of truth will get worse. The Apostle Paul warned that a colossal deception would be foisted on the world during the time of the end. No, Covid 19 isn’t that deception. As encompassing as the worldwide behavioral modification has been during the era of Covid, this time will pale in comparison with what is coming! Contained in Paul’s epic warning is a key you can use to protect your mind during the momentous times ahead. Notice the instruction found in 2 Thessalonians 2:9-11:
“9 The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, 10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, 12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
Paul said that the time preceding Jesus’ return would be a time of unrighteous deception by Satan, as he works through the human agency of the godless “man of sin.” (v.3) In Revelation 13:13-14, this same individual performs “great signs,” and deceives those who dwell on the earth.
As in the era of Covid 19, compliance to the dictates of this unholy power will be universal around the globe! We have never seen a closer parallel to the cataclysmic and deviant force which will be unleashed on mankind.
The force of the devil will grow much more powerfully because he knows his time is short (Revelation 12:12), so what can you possibly do to prevent being overtaken by the demonic influence of the end time?
Paul’s words hold a vital key, from his letter to the Thessalonians, quoted above. Many will be deceived by Satan and his human henchmen “because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.”
Paul continues by showing that deception will happen to all those who have pleasure in unrighteousness and lawlessness. We are now living in momentous times, contradictory to our shared history in the United States – individual liberty and decision making replaced by ordered dictates.
It is time to WAKE UP. Spiritually. There is a continuing and rising tension, in the United States and the world between right and wrong, morality and immorality. The devil’s aim is to enslave all mankind in a universal government under the leadership of him as the invisible and silent partner of incredibly evil men with sinister plans.
Pray for God’s guidance and protection for all. Pray for and seek the truth of God and live by it.
