Few crimes strike the human conscience with such forceful revulsion as the trafficking and exploitation of children. It is a crime that is not only vile in action but deeply prophetic in nature—an unholy practice that points to the collapse of moral restraint and the emergence of a spiritually bankrupt world system. As we trace the increasing prevalence of this crime in modern society, we must ask: Does the Bible foresee this evil in the last days? The answer, unsettling as it may be, is yes.
A Cabal of Darkness in High Places
It has become increasingly difficult to dismiss the notion that child trafficking is not merely the work of rogue criminals, but a systematic operation involving powerful individuals. The names associated with Jeffrey Epstein and his extensive network—many of them cloaked in political, financial, and cultural influence—have emerged as a troubling signpost of the times. The elite class, once presumed to be guardians of social order, now shows signs of complicity in its greatest betrayals. When the innocent are exploited by those in power, we are no longer dealing with isolated sin—we are witnessing systemic corruption that mirrors biblical warnings.
But perhaps what is even more disheartening is the silence—or inaction—of those who once promised justice.
What Happened to the Rescue?
In the years leading up to 2020, the Trump administration publicly promised to target child traffickers and begin a process of rescuing the estimated 350,000 children who had reportedly been brought into the United States and subsequently disappeared. It was a declaration met with cautious hope by many who have long prayed for exposure and justice. Yet, as months passed, many began to ask: Where are the results? Why have these operations gone dark? Why have names not been named, networks not dismantled, and children not returned?
The issue transcends partisan politics. If such a crime exists on this scale—as many credible investigations suggest—then every administration that fails to confront it becomes complicit. America cannot plead ignorance. The trail of silence, sealed records, and closed investigations stands as an indictment against a nation that once called itself a light to the world.
The Prophetic Portrait of a Corrupt World
Paul’s words in 2 Timothy 3:1–5, 13 (NKJV) describe the characteristics of society in the last days:
“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good… having a form of godliness but denying its power… But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.”
These are not merely descriptions of common social decay. They speak of leadership. “Lovers of themselves,” “brutal,” “without self-control,” and “despisers of good” describe individuals intoxicated with power and void of empathy. That such traits are increasingly normalized among world leaders, influencers, and policy-makers is not accidental. It is prophetic fulfillment. The depravity we are seeing is top-down—and it is poisoning the nations.
When Justice Is Delayed
One of the most sobering warnings in Scripture speaks directly to our current condition:
Ecclesiastes 8:11 (NKJV) “Because the sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.”
When justice is postponed, evil festers. When crimes like child trafficking are not prosecuted swiftly and openly, it emboldens the perpetrators. The silence becomes permission. The lack of exposure becomes cover. And the very foundations of justice are eroded.
This is precisely what we are witnessing. The longer America delays in naming the guilty and rescuing the vulnerable, the more judgment accumulates.
The Judgment of Babylon: Commerce in Human Lives
Perhaps the most explicit reference to human trafficking in prophecy appears in the judgment of “Babylon the Great” in Revelation 18. This symbolic end-time entity—often interpreted as a corrupt global system of commerce, false religion, and political power—is condemned for its luxurious living and moral filth. Among its sins is the trading of human lives:
Revelation 18:13 (NKJV) “…merchandise of… wine, oil, fine flour and wheat, cattle and sheep, horses and chariots, and bodies and souls of men.”
The phrase “bodies and souls of men” is more than poetic—it is forensic. It is a divine indictment of a society that commodifies human beings. Children are not spared in such systems; they are the most sought-after prey for those who have extinguished all conscience.
Ancient Echoes: Selling Children for Pleasure
The prophet Joel condemns the enemies of Israel for a crime strikingly similar to what we now call trafficking:
Joel 3:3 (NKJV) “They have cast lots for My people, have given a boy as payment for a harlot, and sold a girl for wine, that they may drink.”
This is not hyperbole—it is history and prophecy. Children were exchanged for sexual pleasure and intoxication. Today, many of the same dark motivations drive underground markets, except they are enhanced by modern logistics and protected by elite silence. The Internet, private islands, shell corporations, and judicial manipulation form a web of concealment—but God sees.
God’s Fierce Anger Toward Those Who Harm Children
The words of Jesus are among the most chilling in Scripture when He describes the fate of those who lead children into sin or abuse:
Matthew 18:6 (NKJV) “But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea.”
There is no ambiguity here. Divine justice will not delay forever. Those who exploit children may evade earthly prosecution—but they will not escape God.
Why We Must Speak
It is tempting to remain silent. The topic is disturbing, and the implications are too dark for casual conversation. Yet silence allows evil to grow. The prophetic message is not one of despair, but of truth before judgment. God’s people are called to expose darkness, not coddle it.
Ephesians 5:11 (NKJV) “And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.”
This includes exposing the global apparatus—whether secular or religious—that shields traffickers. From the fallen clergy of religious institutions to the political cover of billionaires and celebrities, the veil is lifting. The rise of global perversion is not just a social crisis; it is a sign of judgment to come.
Final Thoughts: America at a Crossroads
Unless America exposes this sin for what it is, it risks sharing in the guilt of those who commit it. Every administration, including the current one, stands before a moral threshold: either confront this crime and protect the innocent—or be counted among those who helped cover it up.
This is not just a political crisis. It is a spiritual test. If justice is not restored, if the children are not rescued, if the abusers are not revealed—then the nation’s judgment is not far off.
There is no place for neutrality in a war against innocence.
As much good as has been done in the past 176 days of President Trumps second term — closing borders, bringing inflation to nearly 0%, the nagging question of the Epstein files cannot simply be dismissed. The American public is not buying the idea that Jeffrey Epstein did not have a client list or wasn’t used by elitist government organizations like the CIA, MI6 and Mossad to compromise politicians, titans of industry, even Kings and Princes of the earth with their participation in child/sexual abuse.
My friend Mike, from Alabama, texted me 2 days ago wishing me a “happy July 2nd!”
Mike, like his favorite American President, John Adams, thinks we should celebrate the American Independence on the 2nd of July, because the Continental Congress actually voted for independence on July 2, 1776.That was the day they approved Richard Henry Lee’s resolution declaring the colonies free from British rule. John Adams was so convinced this was the pivotal moment that he wrote to his wife Abigail:
“The Second Day of July 1776, will be the most memorable Epocha, in the History of America… It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade… from one End of this Continent to the other…”
But July 4 became the celebrated date because that’s when the Declaration of Independence was formally adopted and dated, even though it wasn’t signed until weeks later. The document’s date stamped the public imagination, and July 4 stuck.
Adams refused to participate in July 4 celebrations, believing July 2 was the true date of independence. Jefferson, on the other hand, embraced July 4 as the symbolic birth of the nation, especially since he authored the Declaration.
Their rivalry was more political than personal during their presidencies, but they reconciled later in life and resumed a rich correspondence. Ironically, both men died on July 4, 1826, the 50th anniversary of the Declaration’s adoption — a poetic twist that further cemented July 4 in American lore.
While most of us celebrate July 4 as the official date of Independence, Mike, like Adams, refuses to acknowledge the 4th, which wouldn’t be a problem, except that Mike insists on setting off fireworks in his neighborhood on July 2, to the chagrin of his neighbors, and this year, like so many before, Mike was pretty lonely at his “July 2nd Barbeque.” Mike’s attempts to rally his town to have the kind of “Pomp and Parade,” on July 2, advocated by Adams, has also fallen on deaf ears.
America At War!
On the 249th Anniversary of the founding of America, the nation’s greatest problems are not from outside forces, but from within the nation by subversive forces that have worked against the best interests of the United States for many years.
One of the founding fathers, John Jay, warned of problems within that could potentially wreck the Republic of the United States. In the Federalist No.5, Jay wrote: “Should the people of America divide themselves into three or four nations…envy and jealousy would soon extinguish confidence and affection, and the partial interests of each confederacy…would be apt to inflame their mutual animosities.
Abraham Lincoln addressed the idea of internal threats most famously in his 1838 Lyceum Address, where he said:
“At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher.”
Early in the history of the United States, America’s greatest leaders warned that the nation’s greatest potential problems would lie within. Bible Prophecy echos that sentiment, and just as the United States is once again poised to retain its leadership among all nations on earth, evidence shows the nefarious attempts by powerful figures within the United States government and courts to derail the progress of the “American Experiment.”
For instance, in less than a few months, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) uncovered the spending of vast sums of American taxpayer dollars that have been directed to an intricate labyrinth of private non-governmental organizations (NGOs), apparently very little being spent on meaningful programs, and most likely being funneled into the private and secret accounts of politicians and bureaucrats. This alone may explain why career politicians and bureaucrats have net worth far beyond government salaries after spending time in political or government service.
Bible prophecy strongly indicates a major trend of end time conditions within those who occupy offices of influence within the descendants of Jacob, or Israel, as the son of Issac’s name was changed to.
Micah was a prophet whose ministry began during the reigns of some of the latter Kings of Judah, Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah. Yet his visions not only included a message to Judah, the Southern Kingdom, but the northern Kingdom of Samaria as well.
At the pinnacle of the Nothern Kingdom’s power, Micah was given this incredible and powerful vision:
And I said: “Hear now, O heads of Jacob, And you rulers of the house of Israel: Is it not for you to know justice? You who hate good and love evil; Who strip the skin from My people, And the flesh from their bones; Who also eat the flesh of My people, Flay their skin from them, Break their bones, And chop them in pieces Like meat for the pot, Like flesh in the caldron.” (Micah 3:1-3)
The condemnation is apt, for then and now, as it is the leaders who are entrusted to rule for the good of the people — and America was the first nation in the history of mankind with a government whose intent was to serve the people.
Today, in our 3rd century as a nation, many Americans have taken for granted the freedoms established in the Declaration of Independence, and codified in law, not understanding the connection between the Law given to Moses and Israel as they escaped captivity in Egypt.
Those tribes that left Egypt eventually became nations. Those peoples, named as distinct entities, in Genesis 49, were given a homeland in Cannan, but eventually lost their identity through deportation and captivity. Many of the prophets describe the crimes and lawlessness that caused this, and the Bible makes this very clear — leadership played the most important role in the respective captivities of Israel (Jacob’s 12 sons — tribes — nations) and Judah (the only tribe that retained their identity as they retained the understanding of the Sabbath).
The Parallel of Paul’s Prophecies and the Old Testament Prophets
As we have written before, the Apostle Paul was inspired with an amazing end time prophecy about world leaders. Leadership can change everything in society — for good or bad. In this case the prophetic utterance given to his young protege Timoty is a chilling indictment against those who wield power in the time of the end.
In 2 Timothy 3:1-3, Paul sounded the alarm — for OUR time — the “last days!” He said it would be perilous — even as Jesus told the disciples in the Olivet prophecy — times of vast deception, war, nations raging and threatening one another, with famine, pestilence, earthquakes, sorrow and tribulation. (Matthew 24:3-9)
Paul concluded his review of prophetic events of the perilous end times by stating that “But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.” (2 Peter 3:13)
Paul’s remarkable statement indicates a time when evil is unchecked by good, decency and law. Today, while the Trump administration has uncovered vast amounts of unrighteousness, lawlessness and evil, will the actions of righteous men and women act upon their better instincts, as law and justice demand?
Will there be investigations that are founded in justice to seek out the evil intent of any of the horrendous crimes against humanity of the past few years? Massive illegal immigration, which has led to child and sex trade traffic, untold hundreds of thousands of missing children, the rape and murder of innocents perpetrated by violent repeat offenders allowed into the nation by the previous administration? And swift and just action against those whose intent was to cause chaos and disruption in America?
Many are calling for justice, because instinctively they understand this proverb: “Because the sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.” (Ecclesiastes 8:11)
The French Political philosopher, Alexis de Tocqueville wrote in Democracy in America: “Liberty cannot be established without morality, nor morality without faith.”
Will righteous men and women prevail in the United States in the next few years, or will they give way to the kind of men Paul warned about — men who are abusive, traitorous, envious, selfish, greedy, narcissistic, ungodly and evil?
Can you see these types in the world today? Can you recognize how they have taken the reins of power and society and bent them to their own will and ends?
On this anniversary of the most astounding and astonishing foundation of a nation — for the purpose of proclaiming the Good News of God’s Kingdom (Matthew 24:14), may God Bless America!

Last week riots and demonstrations, began in Los Angeles to protest the Trump administration policy on the deportation of millions of illegal aliens who entered the nation under the previous administration. The rioting and protests then spread to cities across the United States as the “No Kings” demonstrations took place. Some who entered the nation illegally came here for a better life. But many millions have come into the nation with specific agendas, and often times evil intent. Many of them have been “bad actors” and criminals from their native countries.
Openly, during the campaign of 2020, then candidate Joe Biden urged people to “surge” the border, and assurances were given that they would be allowed into the United States. And they were. And they were allowed to apply for social services, and many were given Social Security benefits. Many still receive them.
Enter the Trump administration with the sweeping mandate to reverse the course of illegal immigration. A testimony as to how far standards have fallen, many are angry that the current President is enforcing existing immigration law. Every civilized nation on earth has rules for entry, but apparently, according to some, the United States should not enforce it’s own laws!
What is the possible justification of the Democrat party to allow our borders to be overrun, many of them to “Blue” or Democrat controlled states, or to areas that may be, like Texas, leaning “purple?” One agenda is to give more political control to the Democrat party and ensure the ability to win future state and national elections. With every 740,000 increases in population, into a state, an extra congressional seat is granted. Continuing this policy gives more and more power to the liberal agenda and fulfills the greater overarching agenda of the “Deep State” and Globalist powers to overtake America.
In Deuteronomy 28:43 , we read; “The alien who is among you shall rise higher and higher above you, and you shall come down lower and lower.
In history, there is no clearer fulfillment of this vital prophecy than what occurred during the last 4 years, and there is no nation on the face of the earth that would allow the various national identities represented in the riots of the past 2 weeks to parade the flags of various nations, and burn the American flag in protest against the nation they surged to!
Why The Chaos and Tumult of the 21st Century?
The prophecy Paul gave to Timothy, in2 Timothy 3, is one of the greatest defining passages of the world we live in today. Notice:
Paul first explained; “But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come:”
And the world has been placed into perilous times!
Paul continued in verse 13 “But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. “
Evil Men and Imposters
And who are these “evil men”? The general population? Many Bible students may think so. But many passages in the Bible alert us that it is the leaders of society who improperly lead others in their ungodly pattern of behavior. Paul asserts in verses 2-4, that these individuals have the power to alter society. They are narcissistic, greedy, haughty, blasphemous, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, despisers of good and traitorous.
These adjectives do not describe the average citizen. Clearly, Paul is indicting the individuals whose self-interest is far greater than their love of country. Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency taskforce exposed the corruption of the Federal government of the United States, along with hundreds of politicians, both Democrat and Republican, as well as many in the bureaucratic state, who have drained billions, and probably, over a period of decades, trillions of American taxpayer dollars that have been directed to non-government organizations (NGOs) which are fronts to legitimize the theft. Most of these are set up to appear as charitable organizations. The tenacles of the corruption run so deep into the political system, and three branches of American government: Executive, Legislative and Judicial, it is impossible to clean up. This is the most likely reason that Elon Musk was highly critical of the latest “Big Beautiful Bill,” after he completed his audit of governmental offices.
Note these two important prophecies regarding the descendants of Israel, or Jacob, in Isaiah 3:14-15: The Lord will enter into judgment With the elders of His people And His princes: “For you have eaten up the vineyard; The plunder of the poor is in your houses. 15 What do you mean by crushing My people And grinding the faces of the poor?” Says the Lord God of hosts.
The “elders” and “princes” are the modern political, judicial and business leaders who are culpable in taking advantage of their offices of influence. The “vineyard” is the nation, the people, (Isaiah 5:7) who have been taken advantage of by corrupt leaders
In Micah 3, the prophet addresses the leaders of Jacob — primarily the United States and former British Commonwealth nations. Our modern nation’s leaders are indicted for their role in the exposition of evil and lawlessness and their “cannibalization” of the citizens.
The prophecy of Micah is directed to the descendants of both JudahandSamaria, which includes, respectfully, the remnant of Jews in the modern state of Israel, and the rest of Jacob’s descendants, mostly the English-speaking nations today. Micah condemns the leaders of all these nations for their collective greed, bribery, inequity and lawlessness.
Read these and other “Major” and “Minor” (the 12) prophets for detailed descriptions of the sins of today’s modern leaders.
America At War? Again?
Most of the American public do not want another “endless” war in the Middle East, especially after three decades of war against Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya and Syria.
Israel began to send missiles and fighter jets to attack Iran, and it appears the United States is being drawn into another war without clear objectives. Are we to believe that there needs to be “regime change” or is the goal to prevent the nuclear capabilities of Iran?
Whatever the case, Bible and Prophecy students can see the clear implication of a war that could quickly engulf the entire world, as leaders in Pakistan have stated their alliance with Iran, and their call for all Islamic nations to band together to oppose Israel. China has also pledged their assistance to Iran. No surprise there as Iran supplies significant amounts of oil to China.
As of this writing, it is possible that cooler heads will prevail, and that President Trump will deescalate the situation with diplomacy. Let’s hope so!
The Olivet Prophecy
As Jesus counseled His disciples, shortly before His death, He explained what would happen in the world prior to His 2nd coming. Jesus said the “beginning of sorrows” at the time of the end would be “wars and rumors of wars,” with nations and kingdoms in opposition to one another. (Matthew 24:6-7)
From the time of the 1st Century, when Jesus began His Church, deception would also begin with the advent of the preaching of the Gospel of the Kingdom — the promise to establish the Kingdom of God instead of man’s corrupt governments and kingdoms. Jesus covered this broad panorama of prophecy, in verses 4-5 of Matthew 24.
The trends of war, famine, disease, and even earthquakes would increase, Jesus told the disciples, until it reaches a crescendo of “great tribulation.” (Matthew 24:21)
There are many other prophetic details that will unfold, but for now, consider that almost all of these prophecies have their origin in the actions of EVIL men. Many cannot comprehend the level of evil of those in leadership positions.
let’s go back to the beginning of this article and the problem of illegal immigration. As written above, some of the motivation has been to create a permanent voting bloc for the Democrat party in the United States.
But there are more sinister and evil actions that have purposely been sought by a cabal of world leaders. During the great push for immigration into the United States, millions of unaccompanied minors — from newborn babies to younger children, were brought across the borders of California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. In addition, many were flown directly into the United States from Panama and elsewhere in Central and South America.
The money for this was supplied by normal, everyday American taxpayers, whose taxes were funded to USAID, a part of the U.S. Government where the DOGE audits took place.
Hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions of children from the third world have been brought into the United States from 2020-2024, only to be sold into child labor and sex slavery. They have disappeared. Former Homeland Security Director, Alejandro Mayorkas, questioned by the U. S. Congress admitted such. Such is the evil that many Americans simply cannot fathom because in the land of the “free and the brave,” surely, we could not tolerate such injustice — to young children, and even babies!
World News and Prophecy Review has interviewed I.C.E. (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement) agents who have verified these actions.
The 2023 movie, The Sound of Freedom, captured a small slice of the demonic child trafficking system that has been in place. But what most people don’t know is that the greatest purveyors of child/sex trafficking isn’t the lone and occasional pervert — it is entire governmental systems and officials who are behind it!
Not all elected officials are guilty, of course. But there are enough who a part of these Satanic and Demonic actions, that one of the reasons for the overwhelming anger directed to President Trump is that he is trying to shut of their supply of victims!
What can you do? What we can all do is pray for God’s Kingdom! Share this and other articles to others you know who can pray for the proclamation of the message of the only hope this world has — the establishment of God’s Kingdom on this earth, as the Father and the Son have promised.
The injustice present — yet often hidden, behind the scenes — the work of very evil men, is going to be replaced, soon. Our hope is what Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 15:24-25:
24 After that, the end of everything will happen. Christ will win against every ruler and power and authority. He will give the kingdom to God, the Father. God will rule over everything. 25 Christ himself must rule as king until he has won against all his enemies. (Easy English Bible)
The collaborative effort of God the Father, and the Son is also represented in this spectacular vision given to the prophet Daniel (Daniel 7:13-14):
“I was watching in the night visions, And behold, One like the Son of Man, Coming with the clouds of heaven! He came to the Ancient of Days, And they brought Him near before Him. 14 Then to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, That all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, Which shall not pass away, And His kingdom the one Which shall not be destroyed.”
This — not any of man’s systems or governments — are the only hope and salvation for mankind!

Editor’s Note: One of the major themes of end-time Bible Prophecy is rise of Europe as the most powerful political, economic and military force among nations, just prior to the return of Jesus Christ. Since the establishment of the European Economic Community, (EEC) or “Common Market” by the Treaty of Rome, in 1957, Bible students have looked for signs of a dominant European force and leader which will astonish and amaze the entire world. (Revelation 13:3, Revelation 17:12-13)
The following essay is from Craig White, Historian, Archivist, Bible Scholar and observer of world events. You can follow Craig’s work @ Friends Of Sabbath
Will President Trump be to blame if Europe peels off in a different direction from America? Is he forcing them to look after their own affairs and forge a single military or has this been the trend anyhow?
By Craig M White
With President Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher at the helm of the West during the 1980s, relief was provided from the onslaught of the Soviets without and from the advances of the politically correct Left from within.
Reagan himself called for the Soviets to tear down the Berlin Wall in June 1987 which sent academia, the media and the Left in general berserk, accusing him and conservatives of trying to cause WW3. How similar to the false allegations made against Trump. Yet the Berlin wall fell in 1989 and it was Communism that was sunk. We need to think of political precedence, cycles, rhyming and attempt to “look around corners” like any political analyst or policy analyst/developer, rather than the current knee-jerk reaction by some.
The thinking by some in the 1980s was that after Reagan and Thatcher, the Anglo-Keltic and Scandinavian nations would move far Left-Liberal while Europe would slide extreme Right and militarise.
At that time the EU was fairly conservative, the Pope John Paul II was calling for Europe to: “Revive your roots. Experience again those authentic values that made your history glorious and your presence in other continents beneficial.”
Helmut Kohl and other European leaders were conservative by today’s standards and quite sensible calling for greater European unity and for the continent to take a much larger world role. Germany, he exclaimed must “build the house of Europe”.
“What would be the trigger for the EU to adopt remilitarisation?” I pondered. Could it be a world economic collapse? A mini-American civil war? Or something quite unexpected?
Everything seemed to line up with the collapse of the Soviet Union and the nations of Central Europe gaining independence and joining the European Union (EU) and NATO.
Then the opposite began to occur and accelerate to this day: Europe turned radical Left in social, immigration and economic policies as did the Anglo-Keltic sphere.
Politicians, institutions and society progressed from the liberalism of the late 1960/70s to Political Correctness and on to the next stage, Wokeness exactly as postulated by the Eurocommunists. Wokeness is social Marxism.
“What is Eurocommunism?” you may ask. It is all around you now!
The late 1960s saw the rise of the “New Left” also known as the “New Class”. It emanated out of Western universities heavily influence by the Leninist or Trotskyite variant of Communism in lieu of the Stalinist and later Brezhnevian style of Communism. The latter had become rather nationalist, pro-family, anti-sexual identity such as homosexuality while the Western universities taught the original Communism (and not that of the Stalinist and post-WW2 variety).
The New Left gained traction, in part, due to the disgust with the Soviet oppression that went on in Czechoslovakia in 1968 and leverage they gained off the back of the anti-Vietnam War movement. They found expression in the hippie movement, flower children, Black Panthers, feminism, legalised prostitution, legalised pornography and such like. The New Left were less interested in economics and nationalised industries and put much greater emphasis on sexual freedoms, abortion, euthanasia, globalisation, a world melting pot and the gradual elimination of marriage and the family unit, just like the early Communists. They viewed themselves as humanists striving for the triumph of the individual in place of family and nation – an individual who would be a world citizen, part of a global collective of individuals devoid of restrictions. A World Government would be organised which would liberate mankind from those restrictions allowing it to reach for new heights.
It is this variant of Communism – much closer to the original aims of Marx and co – that they strive for and have unfurled upon the West. Much of this philosophy can be found in DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) policies, also known as social engineering.
Recent Developments: Enter Trump
Trump is now unwinding much of the DEI programs imposed upon American society by the federal government. The media is not too happy about that.
Also, despite the wrist ringing by anti-Trump types and continuing media bias if not outright lying:
“President Donald Trump’s Ukraine policy is doing the opposite of what many think – it is strengthening NATO and investing America in Ukraine’s independence and territorial integrity. But it is doing so in a way that is realistic and is intended actually to work rather than sound nice.” (Eugene Kontorovich, “The True Story Behind Donald Trump’s Stance on NATO and Ukraine”, 19fortyfive.com, 15 March 2025)
This is true realpolitik in action due to the Trump administration’s lateral thinking and not an ad hoc, chaotic and almost childish approach by the European leaders, unable to sort out the problems within the own countries, let alone Ukraine’s. Problems, in many cases, they have themselves inflicted upon their base.
A recent edition of German Foreign Policy contained this insightful statement that should put us all on alert:
“In view of the Trump administration’s power play, calls are getting louder in Germany for the European Union to become an independent force on the global stage. As a statement from the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP) put it, “Europe must mobilise its ample resources to replace America as a global leader.” Berlin and Brussels are setting out unprecedented spending plans, in the high three-digit billion range, for arming Germany and the EU. Proponents of rapid militarisation want to procure European weaponry rather than American. This view is now being adopted even by traditionally transatlantic-aligned media.” (“We’re a global power”,german-foreign-policy, 10 March 2025)
What is going on? Why this sudden change in stance by the European Union?
Actually, it isn’t a sudden change and any attempt to ‘blame’ Trump for Europe beginning to cleave from America does not fit the historical developments over many years as shall be outlined below. Europe, has, instead, been provoking American and testing its patience. It is to blame for the current strain within the Atlantic Alliance, not America.
So many exaggerations have been published by the left-leaning media about Trump that it is time to equalise out their elitist narrative.
One such narrative is that the whole of Europe is opposed to him and his plans. Is that accurate? To balance this have a read of “European Opposition to Trump is Heavily Overstated”, The American Conservative, 11 March 2025 by Scott McConnell; “Why Tariffs are Good”, Tabletmag, 8 March 2025; “The EU Has Been Imposing Tariffs on American Products for Decades”, TheDailySkeptic, 17 March 2025 by Robert Kogon)
Returning to Kontorovich’s article, he further explains;
“Trump understands that paper promises are worthless and suggested a new approach to cementing alliances – by creating real joint interests. The mineral deal between the two countries makes the U.S. directly invested in Ukraine’s territorial integrity, an interest that will exist across administrations.”
This is realpolitik, not the tripe, emotional frenzy and absolute nonsense that amateurs conjure up without analysis or in-depth understanding. The European recalcitrant brats seem unable to comprehend any of this. Or they are deliberately attempting to stir up an international hornet’s nest against the Trump administration with the support of the international media, universities and various peak bodies such as think-tanks.
All Trump did was provide a fillip for this gradual transformation of the Atlantic Alliance.
For at least twenty-five years, U.S. security experts and leaders have urged their European NATO allies to enhance their defence budgets. Initially, this was a gentle suggestion, but it later escalated to a more forceful demand, culminating in a significant ROAR following the election of President Trump. The European brats have been living off America, draining it of resources for far too long and now it is up to them to look after themselves.
The notable press conference at the White House with President Volodymyr Zelensky on 1 March this year served as a wake-up call for Europeans, prompting them to reconsider their defence expenditures, a development that American analysts have greeted with satisfaction.
European nations are now engaging in a military spending spree to meet an arbitrary GDP target or a specific monetary figure, while acquiring weapon systems favored by lobbyists but lacking in practical relevance, which is an inadequate substitute for a thorough European security strategy.
They seem poised to allocate substantial financial resources without clear justification, disregarding significant recent technological and tactical advancements on the Ukrainian front.
“But we Europeans seem to have an institutional incapacity to think two steps ahead. As a result, we aren’t asking the important questions: such as what capabilities does Ukraine need to win the war? Where are the bottlenecks, and how can we fix them? What are the end-game scenarios? What would be an acceptable second-best outcome? What does it mean to win, or to lose?” (Wolfgang Manchau, “Trump has Europe in check. We have lost the art of strategy”, Unherd, 10 March 2025)
Indeed, this generation of European leaders are cunning and semi-authoritarian, but not that bright!
As such, it seems probable that America is far too powerful for Europe to contend with at the moment. And if Trump gets his policies implemented, America will continue to dominate for a while yet, following in the footsteps of Ronald Reagan (read W. James Antle III, “Trump’s Economy: The Reagan Story and the Biden Story?” The American Conservative, 12 March 2025).
If militarism has proven detrimental to the United States—resulting in extended conflicts that fail to enhance security, undermining the well-being of American society, allowing arms lobbies to dominate its political landscape, and eroding democratic principles—what rationale exists for believing that such militarism would benefit Europe?
In reviewing the literature on the subject of European rearmament, I pose the question: “what if the EU is seized somehow, some day, by the extreme Right?” Given that it will by then have at its disposal a European defence force – or at least the foundations of one – what will it do with it if and when it truly divides from America on political, religious and economic grounds?
Are we seeing unintended consequences in the making?
Let us explore the historical development toward a single European military and where that may lead.
It seems that from now on, there will be no reversion to the status quo ante.
History of Defence chatter
To many observers, including yours truly, the forging of a single European military is axiomatic.
It is important to understand the forces behind a European Defence Force (EDF) and the rationale behind it.
There have been many pan-European white papers, conferences, open debates, think-tank discussions, scholarly articles and papers and even joint naval and army exercises over the years, long prior to the first presidency of Trump. These have always edged toward greater European military cooperation and integration but at a snail’s pace.
Through Trump’s urging, European nations increased their defence spending during his first presidency. It now looks like they will increase spending again, but this time by the extension of debt which is at a shocking level EU-wide (in addition to provincial and local government debts).
Historically, the concept of a European defence force originated in the 1950s, beginning with the proposal for a European Defence Community (EDC) in 1950, which ultimately did not come to fruition.
In October 1950, René Pleven, the Prime Minister of France, put forward a proposal for the establishment of a European Army governed by a supranational authority and financed through a shared budget, referred to as the European Defence Community (EDC). The EDC aimed to function as a multinational defence force within NATO, featuring plans for joint divisions, standardized uniforms, shared weaponry, and a collective budget. Nevertheless, the EDC initiative ultimately failed in 1954 when the French parliament did not ratify the treaty.
In the aftermath of the European Defence Community’s (EDC) failure, discussions commenced to amend the Brussels Treaty of 1948 and to incorporate Germany into NATO, which was successfully achieved in 1955.
In the same year, the West European Union (WEU) was formed to promote military cooperation which even possessed its own Parliament and committees for various cultural and social matters. These committees were transferred to the Council of Europe in 1960 (not to be confused with the EU).
In 1995, the Council of Ministers of the WEU announced the establishment of the European Operational Rapid Force (EUROFOR). This task force became operational in June 1998 as part of the WEU.
To address security and defence matters collectively, in 2003 the EU established the Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP). Then in 2004, the European Defence Agency (EDA) was founded to improve the development of defence capabilities and to encourage cooperation among EU member states.
In 2010, the ten full Member States of the WEU declared that the organisation would cease operations by the middle of the following year.
In 2011 the EU took over its defence and foreign affairs functions, and the WEU disappeared into history. The meant that the EU now had the legal avenues to forge its own military union.
In 2017, the EU initiated the Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO), a framework designed to deepen defence collaboration by jointly developing defence capabilities for EU military operations.
What of nuclear weapons? France has touted that its weapons could be used as a defensive shield for Europe and even stationing some in Germany. That was many years prior to Trump, resuscitated in 2023 when Biden was President and again in 2025. The legal, political and logistical hurdles would be tremendous to overcome to undertake this initiative.
Germany itself is not permitted to build nuclear, chemical or biological weapons and has signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and Chemical Weapons Convention.
In addition to this, industry executives claim that limits on finance, export transit permissions, and environmental regulations—all implemented by the EU in collaboration with members of the weapons sector—are impeding investment and growth.
But times are changing, and although the above are serious hurdles, they can be overcome in due course, but this all takes time.
A European Defence Force on the Horizon
In many ways Europe today is fraying at the edges, but it will not always be that way.
Europe must allocate approximately 3.5% of its GDP over the next ten years to adequately prepare its military forces to any possible future Russian threat, independent of any American support. Until this investment is made, the collective military capabilities of Europe will remain susceptible to potential Russian incursions in the Baltic region.
“Europe’s Shock Therapy is Working on Europe” declared Newsweek 22 March 2025. Yet, it will take many years to catch up to America’s awesome power. For example, Rudy Ruitenberg writing in the eminent Defence News, noted that “Europe’s very own missile for piercing air defenses is years away” (17 March 2025).
If Europe were to forge a united military under a single command structure tomorrow, it would take many years to build all the weaponry it needs to come anywhere near America. Let alone operate gigantic global bases.
The previously referred to article in German Foreign Policy continues:
“By embarking on a policy of compulsory militarisation in Europe and moving towards an exclusive focus on national interests for all German activities abroad, Berlin is reviving a longstanding goal of the German elites: namely, to deal with the United States “on an equal footing”. Back in 1966, the then CSU leader and former Defence Minister (1956 to 1962) Franz Josef Strauß spoke out in favour of “a united Europe” rising to “the position of an independent power between the United States and the [then] Soviet Union”.[11] In 2003, Werner Weidenfeld, then an advisor to German Chancellor Helmut Kohl, wrote in an article in the Springer-owned newspaper Die Welt that the EU already had potential strengths that can “define the status of a global power”. Indeed, he saw the EU as superior to the US in some key areas. “The integrated Europe,” he wrote, “is a world power in the making.” Ideas for giving Germany a much stronger role on the world stage have been discussed many times. In 2020, for example, a piece entitled “More courage to assume global power” in the weekly Die Zeit reflected this trend by urging EU leadership in world affairs. The title of an article in the Welt am Sonntag in 2020, co-authored by former International Development Minister Gerd Müller ran “Europe has the makings of a world power.” [emphasis mine]
We should now consider the unintended consequences of a European defence force: What if radical right-wing forces take over the EU?
It appears that Europeans possess an institutional inability to anticipate future developments. Consequently, they fail to pose critical questions, including: what capabilities must Ukraine acquire to achieve victory in the war? What are the existing obstacles, and how can they be addressed?
They are all over the place, confused, incoherent and unable to deliver on the big statements that they make with their big mouths! Such are the brats.
Unbeknown to them, due to their arrogance, it is unlikely that the European Union will remain in its current formation due to its own, internal civilisational fissures.
In a previous article, (Trump 2.0 and the Roots of his Realpolitik) I referenced The Clash of Civilizations by Samuel Huntington and I mentioned that there are fissures within civilisations that can come into conflict, not only between civilisations. Europe itself contains several such mini civilisations:
Western Europe and Scandinavia
Central (Mittel) Europa
South-eastern Europe
Southern Europe
East Europe and Russia
Look at the shocking conflict between Russia and the Ukraine – this is an example of conflict within a civilisation even when the people, language and religion are similar.
Yet, consider this: there are huge undercurrents today which are being suppressed by the EU elites. These undercurrents are flowing in the opposite direction to the elites and something has to give.
We are witnessing the tide of European peoples moving toward the right, while the elites crazily hold on to power, pushing Europe ever leftward. Every time in places such as Germany, Austria, Fance, Poland, Rumania or Italy where the centre-right are gaining ground, the elite’s resort to all sorts of undemocratic tactics.
Something big is underway: the European peoples are beginning to move toward the Centre from the left, frustrating the elites. But what if the people of Europe continue to slide even further right while the Anglo-Keltic nations move leftwards in years to come? Europe will need a leader – someone of noble or perhaps royal stock who can galvanise the nations of Europe, leading them on a new, glorious path, historically connected to the Holy Roman Empire of old.
Historian Desmond Seward cynically pondered “… modern communications made possible the Fuhrer-state [Albert Speer said]. If this is really the reason why Hitler was able to do so much more evil than Napoleon–or even only one of the reasons–then technological progress should ensure that the next ‘national saviour’ on the scene will be infinitely more terrible. Antichrist is yet to come. Perhaps the Emperor and the Fuhrer were merely forerunners.” (Napoleon and Hitler: A Comparative Biography, p. 269) [emphasis mine]
NB: Seward is a historian, not a scholar of prophecy, but he knows the cycles of history and what can occur in the future. That a ‘saviour’ may be needed and called on again to save Europe from a fate that would mean that it will no longer exist as a civilization due to the relentless attacks by the woke and globalist Left.

Editor’s Note: World News and Prophecy Review supports the view that the 12 sons of Jacob, the entire House of Israel (Genesis 49, Deuteronomy 33) evolved from their single families, to tribes, and eventually migrated to various areas of Northwest Europe, as well as distant areas of the globe.
Today’s article is written by Swiss born, David Morker, Ordained minister in United Church of God, member of the Council of Swiss Abroad, entrepreneur and businessman.
Biblical, Historical, and Cultural Identity of the Swiss People
“Raiders shall raid Gad, but he shall raid at their heels.” — Genesis 49:19, ESV
“Blessed be he who enlarges Gad! Gad crouches like a lion; he tears off arm and scalp.” — Deuteronomy 33:20–21, ESV
Among Jacob’s twelve sons, Gad is prophetically portrayed not as a ruler or wealth-bearer, but as a defender—vigilant, territorial, and fierce when provoked. The modern nation of Switzerland shares this precise character: landlocked, independent, fiercely neutral, yet highly militarized and strategically positioned in the Alpine heart of Europe.
This article explores the tribe of Gad through Scripture, archaeology, ethnology, and historical migration patterns, showing that Switzerland is the strongest modern expression of Gad’s legacy.
Gad’s Biblical Identity
The name “Gad” itself implies fortune and warfare. In Genesis 49:19, Jacob declares:
“Raiders shall raid Gad, but he shall raid at their heels.”
The Hebrew word gəḏûḏ (raiders) refers to marauding troops or guerrilla fighters. The tribe would suffer raids but retaliate with precision—a delayed but effective counterstrike.
“Gad crouches like a lion; he tears off arm and scalp. He chose the best of the land for himself, for there a commander’s portion was reserved.”
Here Gad is depicted as territorial, restrained yet lethal, and geographically discerning—choosing land both fruitful and defensible. These descriptors find precise correlation in Swiss geography, military policy, and culture.
Historical Migration and the Helvetii
Following the Assyrian exile (c. 721 BCE), Israelite tribes—including Gad—migrated northward through the Caucasus and into Europe. Scholars such as Yair Davidiy (The Tribes, 1993) and Steven M. Collins (Israel’s Lost Empires, 2002) trace Gadite settlements into central Europe by the early Iron Age.
By the first century BCE, the Helvetii were a dominant Celtic tribe in the Swiss plateau. Julius Caesar recorded in Gallic Wars (1.1):
“Among the Gauls, the Helvetii are the most valiant.”
After their failed migration west, the Helvetii resettled in the Alpine region—constructing fortified communities and canton-like alliances. Their disciplined tribal structure and mountainous homeland laid the foundations for modern Switzerland.
The Cambridge Ancient History (Vol. VIII, p. 49) notes:
“The Helvetii demonstrated an unusual level of political cohesion and martial readiness, suggestive of a more organized tribal history than is typical of Celtic Europe.”
This unique cohesion and strategic posture make them strong candidates for Gadite descent.
Switzerland today is a neutral, prosperous, and highly fortified nation, whose policies and geography mirror the blessings and responsibilities given to Gad.
Key parallels:
“Raiders shall raid Gad” — Switzerland’s mountainous position made it a target in every European conflict. Yet the nation has preserved sovereignty for over 700 years through deterrence, not conquest.
“He shall raid at their heels” — Swiss policy emphasizes retaliatory defense, not preemptive attack. Military service is compulsory for all men; bunkers and weapons are widespread.
“He crouches like a lion” — This imagery suggests poised readiness. Switzerland maintains one of Europe’s most rapid mobilization systems.
As defense scholar Anthony Cordesman of the Center for Strategic and International Studies writes:
“Switzerland is the archetype of a defense-based deterrent force: decentralized, terrain-leveraged, and reliant on mass mobilization.” (European Defense Postures, CSIS, 2019)
Territorial Blessing: “The Best of the Land”
The tribal territory of Gad in ancient Israel was east of the Jordan—fertile, high pastureland, militarily strategic, and agriculturally productive (Numbers 32). Moses’ blessing emphasizes that Gad chose wisely, even before Canaan was fully conquered.
Switzerland today occupies one of the most strategically valuable and naturally protected territories in Europe. Though landlocked, it hosts:
the Gotthard Pass, a vital north-south trade corridor;
some of the purest freshwater reserves on the continent;
a top-three global economy per capita (World Bank, 2023).
Biblical historian E. W. Hengstenberg notes:
“Gad’s inheritance and character were never separated. His tribal territory was among the most exposed and yet the most enduring.”
(Christology of the Old Testament, 1863, Vol. 1, p. 123)
Cultural Traits: Neutral, Federal, Watchful
The structure of ancient Israel included strong tribal autonomy under covenantal unity. Gad, despite residing east of the Jordan, remained loyal to the collective, joining Joshua in conquest (Joshua 1:12–18).
This balance of local sovereignty and national responsibility is reflected in Switzerland’s federal system of semi-autonomous cantons, consensus governance, and tradition of neutrality. The country remains outside the European Union and NATO, maintaining diplomatic neutrality while preserving alliances.
Historian Paul Johnson observes:
“Swiss society, a fusion of independence, federalism, and civic preparedness, has few historical parallels—and no equal in its durability.” (Modern Times, Harper Perennial, 2005, p. 602)
“Mighty and experienced in war, men who could handle shield and spear, whose faces were like the faces of lions, and who were swift as gazelles upon the mountains.”
This vivid depiction fits the modern Swiss doctrine of strategic defense. Though peaceful, Switzerland is among the most well-prepared states in Europe.
All able-bodied Swiss males are required to complete military training.
Weapons and gear are often kept at home.
Strategic infrastructure, including underground airbases and hospitals, is embedded throughout the Alps.
As noted in The Military Balance (International Institute for Strategic Studies, 2022):
“Switzerland possesses the highest per-capita defense readiness in Europe without being a formal member of any military bloc.”
End-Time Restoration
Gad is included in the prophetic lists of Ezekiel 48 and Revelation 7—proof that the tribe endures and will be restored.
Biblical ethnographer George Rawlinson affirms:
“Israelite tribes did not vanish—they adapted, migrated, merged. Their survival lies not in name but in function, culture, and providential continuity.” (The Five Great Monarchies, Vol. 1, p. 48)
Switzerland’s preservation through war, empire, and global upheaval may be more than historical resilience—it may be prophetic appointment.
The tribe of Gad, destined to dwell in a strategically valuable land, to respond decisively when attacked, and to act as a poised guardian rather than a global conqueror, finds its most compelling modern identity in Switzerland. The Swiss national story—marked by independence, unity, territorial strength, and strategic foresight—is not just admirable. It is, in all likelihood, ancestral.
Through biblical promise, historical migration, and national behavior, Gad endures—a lion in the mountains, a sentinel of purpose, and a people reserved for the unfolding plan of restoration.
(April 21, 2025) The passing of Pope Francis on April 21, 2025, marks a significant moment for Europe, both spiritually and geopolitically.
His death leaves a leadership void in the Catholic Church and raises questions about Europe’s ability to address challenges such as the growing Islamic presence and the continent’s political fragmentation.
Historically, Europe has faced and repelled Islamic expansions, notably during the Battle of Tours in 732, where Charles Martel’s victory halted the Umayyad advance into Western Europe. Such events have been pivotal in shaping Europe’s Christian identity and unity. Today, however, Europe appears fragmented, lacking the cohesive leadership once exemplified by figures like Charlemagne and Otto the Great.
Pope Francis advocated for interfaith dialogue and integration, emphasizing unity in diversity. Yet, his approach faced criticism for not adequately addressing the challenges posed by radical Islam and the integration of Muslim communities. His death may prompt a reevaluation of Europe’s strategies in preserving its cultural and religious identity.
The current political landscape in Europe, characterized by fragmented leadership and divergent national interests, hampers the ability to formulate a unified response to these challenges. The absence of strong, unifying leaders in both the political and religious spheres exacerbates this issue.
In addition to the death of the Pope, another event could become a catalyst for change on the European continent. The founder and former Chairman of the World Economic Forum, Klaus Schwab, who recently had stepped down as leader, today resigned from the organization. The stated goal of the WEF is to bring together leaders from business, government, academia, and civil society to collaborate on global issues — such as economic development, climate change, technology, health and geopolitics. But some critics of the organization ascribe more sinister motives to Schwab and his associates.
By bringing the most powerful politicians and bankers in the world to its annual conference in Davos, Switzerland, Schwab’s comments have outlined the true agenda of the WEF; to reduce the influence of the sovereign state, and especially the influence of the United States, and promote the WEF view of globalization. To that end, the WEF has influenced, through its young global leader’s program, some of the most prominent heads of state and cabinet members in various nations around the globe.
The Rejection of Islamization of Europe and Globalization
Pope Francis soft stance on the Islamic influence in Europe was a reflection of his socialist leanings, and whether his inability to recognize the destructive nature of Islam within the continent was deliberate or just naivete is debatable.
Failure of Two Institutions
It is clear that the leadership of the Roman Church, especially through Pope Francis, as well as the influence of the WEF, has failed the European continent, and there is an emerging class of leaders, represented by Giorgia Meloni (Italy), Marine Le Pen (France), Viktor Orban (Hungary) and Andrej Babis (Czech Republic), among others. Recognizing the inability of the European Union, who policies have followed globalist ideals, these leaders have seen that the EU has not provided answers to Europe’s problems. And under Pope Francis, Europe has certainly not been inspired to religious revival.
The Coming Superpower and Church
These recent developments are intriguing to students of Bible Prophecy. Passages such as Revelation 13, Revelation 17,Daniel 11 among many others help describe the powerful alliance between a powerful group of 10 nations and a revitalized Roman Church.
Whenever the Catholic Church and its Cardinals meet to elect a new Pontiff, Bible students wonder if “this will be the last Pope,” one who will possess other worldly powers of deception and miracle working ability. (Revelation 13:11-17, 2 Thessalonians 2:9-10)
The Immediate Future
It is the working opinion of World News and Prophecy Review that there must be a catalyst for the reform of Europe, a recognition of failed policies, and a clash between the cultures of Europe and Islam before an emergence of a United Europe. This is hinted at in Daniel 11:40, where a future “King of the South,” attacks Europe, or the “King of the North.”
But, as students of Bible Prophecy realize, understanding future events is a fluid process, and it is good to continue to watch, yet not necessarily be tied into exact timing or go beyond what the Bible actually teaches us regarding the future. That is why we are to watch and pray throughout the “time of the end.” (Luke 21:36)
In conclusion, Pope Francis’s death could serve as a catalyst for Europe to reflect on its historical roots, reassess its approach to integration and unity, and seek renewed leadership to navigate the complexities of its evolving identity.
Is Trump chaotic and is he really to blame for tensions with the EU and others? Let us explore the facts.
By Craig Martin White
In part one it was pointed out that President Trump and the elites all over the West and particularly in the European Union (EU) have fallen out of love, if they were ever in love. He wants the EU as a partner, not a vampire draining America of its wealth. Because of them, to a large degree, America is spending more on debt repayment interest that it is on defence itself. He and his officials know that this fiscal overreach is leading to America’s economic ruin and must be reined in urgently.
Almost every day the press and their websites contain tirades splattered against President Donald Trump, Elon Musk and other officials of the United States administration.
They are blamed for everything imaginable and anything that many to go wrong in the world, they are already prognosticating that Trump will be to blame. It is almost like they want him to fail in every respect (domestic policy, foreign policy, the economy). Or maybe they are arranging his failure? One prominent Australian newspaper’s website alone contains three to six such articles practically every day! It is clear that they don’t believe in democracy and any challenge to their cherished world order. An order that has become corrupt and is decaying from within.
These elites have rewritten the playbook, and Trump and his administration refuse to play by the changed rules.
They promote a narrative of “chaos” coming from Trump and his team. By stating this narrative over and over again many are deceived. But the worst part is when they believe their own lies. Or perhaps they don’t understand the workings of Trump and as political analysts they should. Instead, they lead astray those they seek to exploit by spreading a perception of the man. As most people do not have the time or interest in deeply understanding politics and world affairs, they rely on how they perceive politicians and those creating these perceptions are very good at how they ply their trade.
For example, a Member of the European Parliament, Guy Verhofstadt accused Trump of being the “greatest threat” and that “Trump is Putin’s puppet, and he’s making it clear: NATO’s greatest threat isn’t abroad, it’s sitting in the White House.”
Lying and exaggerating are unbecoming to ruling classes, but that is in their DNA. It is almost as if they cannot help themselves. By this method, they create views which are not necessarily accurate.
Politics is, after all, largely about perceptions. One of these surround Trump’s call for acquiring Greenland as a United States Territory as if this was something new or terrible or imperialistic.
However, President Andrew Johnson (1865-69) who was the one able to purchase Alaska from Russia, even attempted to purchase Greenland. Seventy-seven years later, in 1946, President Truman proposed the purchase of Greenland from Denmark. Then in 1955, the Joint Chiefs of Staff encouraged President Eisenhower to pursue the acquisition of Greenland. Trump is merely following in their footsteps.
Why is he doing this? It is because he is fully aware of the China threat and does not want them gaining a foothold in Greenland. What could possibly be wrong with that?
At a recent lecture at the Lowy Institute I attended here in Sydney, the panel presented a ‘single point of view’ and one panel member in particular, was deeply unfavourable toward Trump, even alleging that he was going to abandon Asia and Australia to China, frightening the audience. Nothing can be further from the truth and in fact, China’s behaviours is causing him to shift focus to our region.
The elites comprising woke/left-liberals, neo-conservatives (not true conservatives, but warmongers who were originally on the far Left but accepted capitalism, while holding on to liberal social values), liberal internationalists, neo-Marxist and the Greens, possess common interests and common foes. This merging coalition is intensely powerful and will not let go of their power. As they try and reverse the tide of emerging history, the more frustrated and angrier they tend to become.
They are also wary of any bruising encounters with Trump or any of his team who have proven themselves to be battle-hardened (literally) or in other realms of life such as politics or business. The European weaklings are so emasculated that they can only beat their breasts and gnash their teeth in anguish at this time.
George Friedman, noted the following in an article “Trump’s Place in US Political Cycles” which appeared in Geopolitical Futures (18 November 2024):
“Presidents are elected by aligning with the pressures that already exist, and they govern in response to these pressures. Since the United States is a democracy that should not be surprising…
“A transitional president like Reagan, Roosevelt or Jackson tends to usher in shifts that are often despised by the establishment until they are successful. One does not need to have supported Trump’s election to see how it will play out.”
Has Trump 2.0 Learned Lessons from Trump 1.0?
The first version of Trump had him beset on all sides including false allegations, witch hunts, betrayals, attempts at impeachment and the Covid lock-down fiasco.
Let alone the close encounter with a would-be assassin’s bullet not long prior to his second term. His resilience has been ‘over and above’ the ordinary.
But Trump 2.0 is a lot wiser, brazen and immensely more powerful. “Whatever doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.”
Instead of moulding a team that is disparate in an attempt to be conciliatory toward the opposition, this time he is building one that is truly nationalistic and personally loyal. And with this being his final time he is permitted to hold the office, he seems to have adopted a “now or never” and “I don’t care what you think” approach which key members of his team such as James Vance, the Vice President and Marco Rubio, the Secretary of State have also subscribed to.
However, his unconventional approach continues. His use of hyperbole, floating idea ballons and even throwing grenades in the room persists.
Unlike Presidents Nixon and Reagan who were initially outsiders who worked their way through the establishment and created networks within various power groups, engaging the system, building alliances and understanding statecraft, Trump seemingly doesn’t understand statecraft and doesn’t care too much for it. And that may well be what is need nowadays when America is confronted with a room full of rowdy, ungrateful brats. Brats who bully others for not towing the line, even within their own ranks. Witnessing the undemocratic behaviours of the EU toward their own people is appalling to watch.
The recalcitrant brats in the EU after all, are the ones who have drifted away from their core European values and what ties them to America. Either due to incompetency or by deliberate design, President’s Obama and Biden pulled America far from its foundations and values, aligning with the far Left and semi-authoritarian leadership in Europe. Trump wants to undo all of this because continental Europe is slowly but surely drifting from America. Not the other way around.
In reality, Europe, if it did not drift from its and America’s roots, would have had little to fear from Trump’s Presidency. The blame for all the snarkiness in relating to Trump 2.0 lies squarely with them. It is they who have caused the backlash.
Thus, the President has more detractors than allies on the world stage, but still, there are some genuine allies who see what he is trying to do and give him moral support. One is Liz Truss who was ignominiously removed as Great Britain prime Minister: “We need a Trump style revolution. Everything that’s happening here saying there are two genders, dealing with the border, getting rid of net zero, and getting on with drill baby drill. That is what we need right now in Europe and it can’t come soon enough.”
And Europe, the centre or the world’s greatest grouping of sophisticated cultures, has its own civilisation which is under threat. It contains fissures within that civilisation that it must deal with and not pick a fight with Trump. All he is doing is attempting to have them look after themselves and solve their own problems without running like children to Daddy with a handout for more money. The brats need to learn a lesson, but they prefer to gang up on their superior.
Allow me to explain.
Civilisational fissures
Trump may not realise it, but one can only assume that his foreign policy specialists and advisors do: the world can be categorised in accordance civilisations and where those civilisations meet, is where we find many clashes and wars. And this will continue into the future.
Around 1996 or 1997 I came across a book The Clash of Civilizations and the Remaking of World Order by Samuel Huntington (1927-2008) in a bookstore and after browsing it, quickly recognised it as a “must” for the expansion of my knowledge in foreign relations and the impact that distinct civilisations have had and will have on world powers and their allies. I even wrote a short book review about it at that time.
These civilisational fissures may seem obvious to many in one sense, but it takes a political scientist or analyst to unpick the complexities and explain this to the ordinary man or woman.
Huntington’s book articulates several hypotheses regarding the significance of civilisational differences. It posits that these differences naturally results in growing awareness of civilisation-consciousness; and that conflicts between civilisations are likely to replace ideological and other forms of conflict as the primary mode of global discord.
Globalists simply cover their ears to these clear facts.
From in-depth research he could identify that there seemed to be the following civilisations: Western, Confucian, Japanese, Islamic, Hindu, Slavic‐Orthodox, Latin American, and African – eight in all. It was his prediction, based on history and where the ‘fissures’ lay on the borders of these civilisations, that this is where terrible conflicts would arise.
The following map portrays Huntington’s eight civilizations as he understood it:
The book was an outgrowth of an earlier paper which impressed Richard Nixon so much that he congratulated him in the form of a written note stating that Huntington “raised issues that no one else, in or out of government, has adequately addressed.”
Huntington suggests that international relations will continue to see the rise of other powers, which represent other civilisations and he argues that effective political, security, and economic international institutions are more likely to arise within civilisations rather than between them. Additionally, he asserts that conflicts involving groups from different civilisations will occur with greater frequency, duration, and intensity compared to those within the same civilisation (although one wonders if that is always the case). He identifies violent confrontations between groups from different civilisations as the most probable and perilous catalyst for escalation that could potentially lead to global warfare.
Of course, like any good political science work, it can and should be reviewed. It tasks one to have another look and this author ponders on smaller fissures that likely exist in places like South Africa. Or a union of outlying civilisations in Central Europe between Orthodox and Western. Such is the complexity of this world and the divisiveness of mankind. There are many such smaller fissures – mirroring the larger ones – in the Middle East, Africa and elsewhere.
Various media gave a nod at the book with a mere sideways glance while elites occupying the think-tanks where they meet to sip their lattes, dine lusciously and conjure up ways to influence governments, did not appreciate the wisdom contained therein.
Ukraine is one area where Trump must be careful not to get too involved in which can lead to entanglement and deeper engagement and lengthy, drawn-out conflicts. At this stage, he is following the example of Presidents Nixon and Reagan. Their philosophy was “peace through strength” which helped to keep America from wars to sometimes engage in smaller conflicts while avoiding major ones and disengaging from others (e.g. Vietnam). Consider also that the world is immeasurably more complex today than under Nixon. Trump has a lot more to contend with.
Even some religious folk become irritated toward Trump. Their arguments are largely erratic and devoid of depth. Their circular thinking is caught within its own trap lacking understanding within a proper global and historical framework. They are emotional.
Yet it is not about emotion; what is occurring is an attempt to improving the current world order and the post WW2 rules-based world system that the Leftist elites have hijacked and are gradually bending to their globalist ideology. It is about realism and keeping America untangled militarily from the conflicts of others. It is about ensuring American global leadership rather than letting it slip into global governance.
Whether the leftwing elites like it or not, the rise of China, India and BRICS are challenging the old order which has shown itself either treacherous, or incapable or downright incompetent in managing the situation. Some elites are delighted by the downhill slope of the West and rise of her rivals; while others seemed to be in a malaise, caught up by their own lack of comprehension to the inherent dangers all this pose. Perhaps they are blinded by their own conceit. Or perhaps this portion of the elites think that they can integrate rising powers into a world system – global governance instead of merely a rules-based order and liberal internationalism. They have taken it much further and Trump is not at all favourable with such an approach.
Even if the latter is achieved, it is destined to be brief. And why would this be the case? Huntington’s wisdom comes into play in such circumstances. The world’s major conflicts have occurred and will occur where there are ‘fissures’ between civilisations.
So, regardless of who is American President, it is surely becoming more and more obvious that the trans-Atlantic alliances and the current rules-based world order are coming undone and need testing and revision.
Trump’s “election has obviously rattled the self-satisfied globalist oligarchs, calling into question the viability of their worldview. In his inaugural speech, Trump challenged every trendy cause embraced by the Davos crowd. I wish I had been a fly on the wall to see the reaction at the WEF when Trump announced his intention to ‘Drill, baby, drill’ for oil. Or when he declared that ‘radical gender ideology’ will be banned in federal institutions, as there is ‘only male or female’.” (Frank Furedi, “Has Trump Killed Davos Man?” Spiked, 23 January 2025)
These institutions have played their part and fulfilled their roles, but have become old, corrupt, bureaucratic and now serve the ambitions of the globalist Left.
Nixon and Trump: an historical rhyme?
Call it a rhyming or similarities between those two men or a sort of political cycle, it is clear that something historical is happening that should cause us to pause for a moment and consider the world we are entering.
Imagine for a moment that you are Trump and endeavouring to extricate the United States from a conflict that was not initiated by your country and which you perceive as a significant burden on American resources. Recently, this was presented a considerable surprise to your allies. The objective is to encourage them to become less dependent on the America for their security needs. Additionally, the aim is to mitigate their competition with the manufacturing of your country. The overarching goal is to establish peace in the Middle East. Furthermore, you are attempting to create a rift between Russia and China, seeking to leverage this division to America’s benefit.
Congratulations! You are now Nixon 2.0, despised by academia and the media. You are now officially portrayed in a bad light, yet your soldier on in defiance of the elites as you follow in Nixon’s footsteps.
True, Nixon supported free trade, limited immigration, NATO, and opposed Russian expansionism. However, this perspective was established long before these policies became less favourable and shifted towards the Left. One cannot compare, for example, today’s NATO with that in existence 55-60 years ago.
Nixon aimed to create a “new majority” by bringing together traditional Republicans and culturally conservative Democrats. He demonstrated flexibility regarding domestic policy by making some compromises and at the same time appointed conservatives to the Supreme Cour. Under his administration, there was an increase in federal government spending and regulation across certain policy domains. For instance, welfare benefits were broadened, and significant new consumer safety regulations were implemented. To him this represented the will of the “great silent majority” of “forgotten Americans” – a distinct sort of populism.
When it came to foreign policy, Nixon emphasized a strategy of limited involvement and a pragmatic enhancement of America’s global standing. He significantly advanced diplomatic relations with China, yet simultaneously eased tensions with the Soviet Union, and managed a strategic withdrawal from Vietnam. All the while containing Soviet power while urging allies to take greater responsibility for their own defence which they didn’t.
He engaged in ongoing verbal confrontations with the Left concerning a broad spectrum of cultural and national security matters and damned the university professors as if they were demons – the enemies of the West and neo-Marxist to the core.
And, according to Nixon, the world could be divided – at that time in history – into five clear centres of economic power, though only two of those possessed real military power: United States, Soviet Union, Western Europe, Japan and China.
And what did Donald Trump do?
In many ways he transformed the Republican Party into a populist “worker’s party.” At the grassroots level, his coalition merges two primary groups into a populist-conservative alliance, imbued with some libertarianism. Overall, his policy stance is centre-right, not far-right at all. As such, it does not align with the particular interpretation of centre-right that was initially preferred by the Republican Party’s affluent urban postgraduate demographic. They have tilted toward the more globalist-left, moving away from the real centre-right position that was once occupied by the Nixonian and Reaganite right.
Despite their significant differences in background, personality, and expertise, there are notable similarities between Trump’s foreign policy instincts and those of Nixon’s administration as we have seen. Trump perceives that the United States has shouldered an excessive burden in terms of global leadership, both militarily and economically. His focus is on a specific interpretation of American autonomy, consolidation, and realism. Regarding Afghanistan, Trump had been vocal about his desire to end U.S. involvement. During 2017-2018, he intensified efforts to negotiate a settlement with the Taliban but sadly the Biden withdrawal was a complete failure leaving America red-faced and the world’s laughing-stock, particularly by her enemies.
After pondering over the Nixon-Trump similarities, I came across an amazing insight. An article was published in the New York Post, “Letters between Trump and Nixon reveal previously unknown relationship” by Emily Jacobs, 24 September 2020:
“In the earliest letter reviewed by the outlet ahead of the exhibit’s opening, dated June 1982, the current commander-in-chief lavishes praise on the former president.
“I think that you are one of this country’s great men, and it was an honor to spend an evening with you,” Trump wrote to Nixon after the two were spotted together at the 21 Club in Midtown Manhattan…
Speaking to TMZ’s Harvey Levin, he showed off one of the letters, dated December 1987, in which Nixon congratulated Trump for an appearance on a television show.
“I did not see the program, but Mrs. Nixon told me that you were great. As you can imagine, she is an expert on politics and she predicts whenever you decide to run for office you will be a winner,” the former president wrote.
“It was just amazing that he wrote it,” Trump said while showing off the letter, adding that it was not the only one.
He said that while he did not know Nixon well, “he would write me letters. It was very interesting. He always wanted me to run for office.”
Let us hope that he does not meet the same fate as Nixon.
Tread very carefully, please, Mr Trump, for there are many against you among the small, but influential ruling elites. They will plot and attempt to cause your downfall.
Postscript:
After finalising this article, I came across an excellent interview with Nadia Schadlow on “Lessons from Nixon for Trump’s New World Order” which you can listen to hear. It is important not only for the facts it contained, but the clarity and depth of thinking of an analyst. For me, she is revealing that Trump is ‘seizing the day’ and bending a trend in world order in a new direction. Using forcefulness which is working. It seems that Trump does appreciate that we live in a different world today compared to one just 20 years ago. And so do his strategists. She mentions that Trump is mirroring Nixon’s grand strategy: peace through strength; shared responsibilities with allies; negotiations. These strategies certainly appear to resonate with Trump. I have all of Nixon’s books and of them, I would recommend a read of The Real War.
Reagan too
Both Trump and Reagan were former Democrats who found that the drift of the party to the radical Left to be reprehensible. And both were the oldest President in the history of America until Biden.
Thanks to Reagan, the Cold War with the Soviet Union ended and a new dawn of liberal-internationalism with a rules-based order would be adopted across the globe.
This conclusion of the Cold War propelled the consensus surrounding Western values. The post-Cold War establishment via its various institutions intensified its conviction that the entire world ought to be reconstructed in this model, heralding what was termed the ‘end of history’ or a ‘new world order.’ The movement advocating for liberalism assumed a monumental responsibility to dismantle nations in pursuit of peace, prosperity, and freedom. Paradoxically, the very aims of the original Communists themselves, but via different vehicles!
But this did not fully emerge, much to the elite’s chagrin, although some leaders, such as Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, heralded a “post-national Canada.” Frustratingly to the elites, most nations are not in accord with such a globalist moment.
Reagan made it plain that he categorically believed in States’ rights to his followers. This obviously continuing the Nixon “southern strategy” and cementing the grand realignment of political forces which saw conservative southern Democrats to swing to the Republican Party.
Reagan, once in the Presidency, maintained this conservative approach by opposing affirmative action and busing initiatives while striving to preserve tax exemptions for racially segregated educational institutions. But that wasn’t because he was racist. It was because he believed in choice.
So it is with Trump: he too believes in States’ rights and choice, instead of an overly centralised system, run by a huge bureaucracy which has been hiding the “deep state” (an alignment of public servants and intelligence operatives in a war against nationhood and conservative values).
Writing in The Australian, Janet Albrechtsen noted that “Donald Trump may not have Ronald Reagan’s charm, but the two have much in common: when Trump is exposing fads, he’s helping the cause of freedom across the world” (“Trump carries Reagan’s torch for common sense”, 22 February 2025).
Instead of the frenzy and nonsense emanating from the mainstream media accusing him and the Republican Party from moving away from Reagan, in most areas he is clearly aligned with Reagan’s philosophy and is now extending it further.
But another area that interests this writer is President Calvin Coolidge (1923-29). It began to dawn on me in the mid-1980s that Reagan was rather similar, in many ways to Coolidge. The initial thought was that this was due to political cycles. But then I read (in Newsweek as I recall) how Reagan was enamoured by Coolidge and so it then appeared that Coolidge’s philosophy rubbed off on Reagan.
And this is probably true for Nixon and Reagan influencing and rubbing off on Trump. Tracing the roots of the doctrines of a leader helps one to grasp their world view and future destination which defies the churlish comments made about the supposed chasm between Reagan and Trump.
Evidence for the Trump-Reagan similarities manifests in various ways, both intentional and unintentional. Similar to Trump in later years, Reagan appointed individuals to significant administrative roles who were fundamentally antagonistic toward the very agencies they were meant to oversee. For instance, those that were appointed to oversee the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Occupational Safety & Health Administration, and the Environmental Protection Agency also served to reform these agencies that conservatives found objectionable.
It is clear that both men were populists and used the “Make America Great Again” slogan. Reagan refused to condemn the White South African government, or apply sanctions against the nation in the face of media outrage against it. Trump is supporting Whites in South Africa and even offering American citizenship to persecuted White farmers. Further, he signed an Executive Order to address serious human rights violations in that country as it slips ever closer toward a typical African-style dictatorship and oppression.
And finally, with each having narrowly survived an attempted assassination, the similarities continue on.
All strange, but true and indicative of a political cycle that throws up occurrences such as these.
What can we make of all of this?
Silly comments that Trump is bringing about the end-time Beast power and as such, is a ‘baddie’ coupled with mirroring the mass hysteria whipped up in the media and various globalist think-tanks, is hardly demonstrating any in-depth analysis, deep pondering or understanding of what is really going on.
In a world where a dangerous dynamic is emerging and the world is slowly cleaving into rival power blocs, sometimes along civilisational fissures, now is not the time to be silly and contrarian to the extent of taking the side of the Left against the West!
If Trump does come undone like Nixon (and which almost occurred with Reagan), it is due to the relentless, non-stop harassment and persecution from the elites.
Let’s make sure that we are not part of that orgy. We should know better and realise that leaders are not perfect and will never match the criteria we create for them.
Finally, this writer is no admirer of Henry Kissinger, but as one of the most prominent world diplomats with expertise in so many areas of international affairs, it would behove us to take note of his utterances:
“I think Trump may be one of those figures in history who appears from time to time to mark the end of an era and to force it to give up its old pretenses … he said. “It doesn’t necessarily mean that he knows this, or that he is considering any great alternative. It could just be an accident.” (quoted in “Henry Kissinger: The World Is in a ‘Very, Very Grave Period’ and Trump Could Mark ‘End of an Era’” Newsweek online, 20 July 2018). [emphasis mine]

The return of Trump to the White House has irked the globalist/woke elites and irked the media. They are up in arms about his ‘America First’ policies which are contrary to those of Presidents Biden and Obama which were clearly to gradually pull America down and to integrate it into world governance.
In other words, to be one nation among many, deprived of power. To abandon its God-given ‘Manifest Destiny.’
In relation to this, below I have written a short note, observing briefly what has been going on in the West over the past 25 or so years. This is being written from a world news/political approach and not prophetic.
Untrustworthy Media
I recall vividly my mother telling me to never trust the media, to read widely (i.e., not just one point of view) and to think for myself. This was imprinted upon yours truly from an early age.
My Father, in turn, was not impressed by the BBC – and that was decades ago – criticizing its anti-British stance and lying. How far worse that leftwing globalist/woke machine is today, spewing out endless hours or what can only be described as one-sided tripe.
Strong language? Yes, but no stronger than their biased remarks on so many subjects demonstrating an ungodly and hateful streak. The lying and venom in the media can even sway God’s people, can it not? Yet I see Christians fall for the disinformation and lack of balance in viewing world news and trends. Some seem to want to be ‘hip’ or ‘cool’ and simply accept the deception that is so freely available rather than taking a step back, taking a deep breath and then come up with a considered stance.
As a result of the above and the clear need to be balanced, fair and garner views from left, right and center, to permit incoming information to gel and make sense, we should formulate a structured understanding of all this data and then respond appropriately.
In addition, I have my own university training and spent many years in various capacities in the central government agency, undertaking work in policy, intergovernmental relations, Parliamentary and Ministerial matters. All this has helped me hone my thinking and views.
But too many today simply accept leftwing media narratives, not realizing that often these are biased and not relatively neutral as they were decades ago.
Today the mask has slipped and the lying and bias is clear for those who are able to see.
But are we?
The Return of Trump
Do readers recall one of the many media hoaxes of all time? The Russia hoax that was denied by Trump and his team for years; disproven; then quietly dropped when the media, together with their other disinformation, managed to undermine Trump’s re-election in 2020. The result was the election of President Biden who clearly possessed cognitive difficulties from the start of his term; chaos in his administration; constant lying; extreme woke and globalist policies; open borders to deliberately bring about the complete demographic transformation of America.
The return of Trump has seen common sense and sanity prevail. The Executive Orders that have been issued; stances taken; $trillions in investments from abroad in America negotiated; DEI policies eschewed; America taking back its place on the world stage and much more, demonstrates that something good is happening. In addition, both he and Vice President Vance have been speaking out against the mass censorship, oppression and attack upon free speech in Europe as well as giving moral support to the true conservative parties on the continent (such as the National Rally, Freedom Party and AfD).
He and his administration are not taking any more nonsense from other nations. Why should they when they are in the right on most issues and America’s economy is around 25% of the worlds and its military spending is 50% of the world’s!
And then there was Trump’s somewhat excellent Presidential speech delivered to Congress. This makes one wonder if we are we witnessing the revival of America’s Manifest Destiny? Even if for a few years as occurred under President Reagan. The realization again of American Exceptionalism (as under Presidents Reagan, Coolidge and Theodore Roosevelt?). You can watch the entire address here.
The speech exhibited class, vision and positivity that America was so desperately in need of.
Trump came across as a global colossus – the nations must now tremble at the (even if temporary) revival of the Anglo-Kelt sphere under his helm.
Corrupt International Institutions
Moderate or Centre-Right politicians are trying to push against a terrible trend that is undermining Western Civilization and basic freedoms such as free speech. Leaders in America, Argentina, Hungary and Italy are trying to do what they can to arrest or even reverse this trend.
The very institutions that were set up to stabilize the world after World War 2 to introduce a new way leading to peace and prosperity around the world, are actually now being used against the West.
It didn’t take the United Nations (UN) long after its establishment to be used by the internationalist Left to work against the West. Soon following this example were UNESCO (a branch of the UNO), the World Health Organization, and even the International Monetary Fund and World Bank which have moved away from their original ideals.
Sadly, NATO is following in the footsteps of the aforementioned, attempting to maneuver the military alliance in a Globalist and even Woke direction. Similarly with the EU – it has progressed far beyond what it was established to be.
As speculated for decades, the UN’s Security Council and General Assembly, World Bank and IMF might be booted out of America due to their negative influence upon the world the past 40 years or more. They are not just Globalist, but they are also Woke and undermining the West to integrate it into a world governance system. They know this means the end of freedoms and the end of the West. They know it and they are doing it.
Perhaps these institutions may move to Europe and be reformed. Or be abolished with rival institutions set up around the world.
One thing we can be certain about is that these institutions have long passed their use by dates.
Father Gjergj Fishta (a Franciscan friar and politician) once commented over 100 years ago “Europe, you old whore…!” Napoleon was supposed to have stated something similar, with the words “Europe is an old whore that needs reforming.” They would have made the same statement about the morals, corruption, massive salaries, overreach and these institutions working against rather than for the West today.
The 1980s playing out again?
Nixon spoke out against what was happening in his day rather forcefully and Reagan appointed an Ambassador to the UN (Jean Kirkpatrick) who did not hold back with her criticisms of the organization and ugliness she and the Reagan administration saw around the world. Reagan’s address to the United Nations in 1982 marked the most severe critique ever presented to the global assembly by a sitting American president. He charged the Soviet Union with tyranny, aggression, and atrocities, describing their actions as “ruthless repression,” while advocating for the acceptance of a U.S. “agenda for peace.”
Trump is not holding back either, and he has precedence which he is following.
And both the United States and the world in general, are in a much worse state today than they were over 40 years ago, requiring much needed actions from the President.
Let us step back for a moment and realize the world that President Reagan and British Prime Minister Thatcher had inherited.
Marxism was on the rise around the world; the Soviet Union and its allies were rather threatening; the economies of the world were in a parlous condition with rampant, historical high inflation; their countries were drifting further and further to the Left on social issues (e.g., homosexuality, abortion, pornography) and the ‘hate America, hate the West’ was on the rise on university campuses and in the media.
Drastic action had to be taken. And it was. Reagan destroyed Communism in Central and South America; Thatcher destroyed it on the home front, stood up to the EU and took back the Falklands after a vicious and cruel Argentinian invasion.
I recall reading the reports; listening to the news on shortwave radio and watching the on television; while living on campus at the time. The university professors whipped the students in a frenzy accusing Reagan and Thatcher of being ‘fascists’, extreme right, wanting to start World War 3 and such like. The rioting and consequent chaos was appalling, yet those two leaders, standing their ground, eventually triumphed. At least for a few years until the Left made another comeback.
Students and many others were literally crying about these leaders, claiming that they would be warmongers, and it is “better to be red than dead”. Something brow-beaten into them by academia.
The worldwide demonstrations with media backing shocked millions into believing that those two leaders were the baddies.
Has anything changed?
Similar goings on occurred when Richard Nixon was President and there appears to be real similarities between the him and Trump. Including, it seems on the surface, attempting to create a wedge between Russia and China to the benefit of world order.
Yet, when one compares the morals of those nations, their economies and decline of the West, they were nowhere near as bad as today.
President Trump’s Duty
The world stands in awe of what is happening in America. Trump will not take a step back and will keep his word and campaign promises to his nation. And to those that oppose America! If they raise their hand against America, they will pay the price!
His administration is moving at breath-taking speed to reverse a titanic that has almost hit an iceberg. The negatives of the economy alone will take months or years to reverse. Let alone dealing over 20 million illegals dwelling in the country, of which around 10 million entered under radical Leftist President Biden.
Honestly, there have been decades of damage done to America and the West. Perhaps Trump can leave a legacy of reversing much of this, but it would take years to do so. In the meantime, he is doing what he can.
Perhaps he will move to leave NATO (which can only be approved by Congress), or form an inner NATO with Canada, Britain, Australia and New Zealand with the Europeans forming their own separate military union which has been touted for decades, but gathering pace the past few years. Already the AUKUS has been established, which is a security partnership between Australia, United Kingdom and the United States. There are calls to expand it to include the other two Anglo-Keltic nations (Canada, New Zealand).
In addition, the Five Eyes network was established that comprises all of those nations. The Five Eyes is an intelligence gathering alliance.
Moves to lessen American involvement with NATO has been considered and debated in military and political circles across the Atlantic for decades, but has been gathering pace, primarily due to the financial mess and horrendous debts caused by the Obama and Biden administrations. Observers (such as Gene Hogberg) and political scientists have been commenting on this possibility for decades.
Consider this: all American Presidents have been asking Europe since the 1980s to share the enormous burden of defending the continent. However, they were always polite which didn’t get them anywhere. But now there is a President who speaks the mind of many: Europe must pay its way and quite “ripping America off”.
So, this day was always going to come. Political scientists have always known that and discussed it. Now it has arrived. Trump simply accelerated the inevitable.
America simply can no longer afford to provide most of the funds to protect Europe which has to step up and not merely talk about doing so for another 20 years.
Then there are the tariffs that America has been putting up with, in effect subsidising various countries. Germany alone is ‘subsided’ by the tune of around $70 billion annually for putting tariffs on America not reciprocating. Lost in the discussion, and the accusation that Trump is starting a “trade war,” is that European nations, Canada, Mexio and many other nations have been imposing tariffs on American goods for decades! All that President Trump has been asking for is a level playing field.
“”German exports to the U.S. have developed very well in recent months and are now at a record level,” said Jens Suedekum from the Duesseldorf Institute for Competition Economics (DICE).
“The trend could reverse, however, after Trump’s inauguration on Jan. 20, as the Republican has promised to impose tariffs of 10% on global imports, in measures he says would boost U.S. manufacturing.” (“Germany’s trade surplus with US reaches record high as Trump tariffs loom” Reuters, 10 January 2025)
Germany is not in a position to stand up to the United States. It needs other European nations to consolidate behind it and demonstrate strength of character, something it cannot do while it has positioned itself on the Left. A shift to the radical Right is needed for this to occur.
NB: When tariffs are properly targeted and implemented, they are beneficial and help’s one’s own country to strengthen or build up their own industries. Historically, there is little correlation between tariffs and inflation.
NATO minus America
An interesting video compared NATO without America to America’s military might.
The comparison shows that in many critical areas, the USA is dominant.
However, if we were to omit Canada, Great Britain, Scandinavia and even Turkey, the EU arm of NATO is far behind the USA, especially give the expansion of the latter as the Trump administration attempts to recover from the huge damage done to the armed services under Biden. It would take a huge decrease in American military funding and tremendous increase in European funding to rival America – and that takes time. Around 10 years or more, starting this year. Building mammoth aircraft carriers, 1000s of missiles, nuclear weapons and so much more, does not occur over a couple of years. Then there is the coordination of national armed forces, different systems, different standards and excessive number of different sorts of equipment.
During the first week of March, leaders of the EU gathered in Brussels for an extraordinary summit dedicated to defence and the situation in Ukraine, in light of escalating concerns regarding Europe’s security framework and its financial foundations. This summit was convened following the unexpected halt of military assistance to Ukraine by Washington in an attempt to end the war, which has intensified the pressure on the bloc to bolster its own defence commitments. In anticipation of the summit, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen presented a new initiative for EU defence financing, introducing the ReArm Europe Plan. Should this plan be implemented, it could enable member states to mobilize as much as 800 billion euros in increased defence expenditures spread over four years. America spends roughly that amount in one year.
America has been virtually bankrupted by reckless, neo-Marxist style spending habits, needless wars, massive overseas aid on unnecessary projects and woke social engineering programs.
It also has the problem of the rise of China and its threatening behaviors.
As such, the country is no longer in a position to defend a rich Europe that has been living off America and undermining it on the world stage. It has to stop no matter who is President, or which party is in power. That is simply inevitable, even if delayed.
Either it stops now under sensible leadership, or America goes bankrupt, and it is forced to quit defending Europe in the most unpleasant circumstances.
Step-by-step, Europe is peeling away from America due to is behaviors. Britain and Canada will likely join America at some point in disgust at Europe’s attitude.
The more peaceful nations of Scandinavia and The Netherlands will probably become neutral and there will probably be reproachment between Russia and the rest of Europe eventually. And when Europe succumbs to the real far right, then I, as an Anglo-Kelt-phile will be concerned.
And that is where the real danger lies for the Anglo-Kelt sphere.
It is truly fated that the world will gradually cleave into several power blocs:
• America and its Anglo-Kelt sphere together with other, related nations.
• Central/Southern/Eastern Europe (allied, at least temporarily with Russia and others);
• Chine and her allies.
• Islamic Nations in North Africa and Near East.
The world peace longed and strived for my Presidents Nixon, Reagan and Trump are continually being undermined.
The EU, led by surreptitious types such as von der Leyen, Macron and others are fueling problems and wars, rather than resolving them. For the present, at least, let us hope that the follow Trumps lead and.

Editor’s note and Forward: Bible students have long acknowledged that the blessings of national riches given to Abraham (Genesis 12:1-3, Genesis 17:1-7) were fulfilled thousands of years later in the rise to international prominence, of the British Empire and United States of America.
It has also been an assumption that those blessings could be removed by God for disobedience (Leviticus 26:14-39), and that process of punishment has been in place for decades.
But is it possible that other factors are in play? WNPR is committed to reviewing these prophecies in future articles, but in the meantime, please note this important historic and prophetic review by Victor Kubik, United Church of God Minister and Council member, Philanthropist and veteran world traveler.
The Panama Canal’s Storied History
By Vic Kubik
President Donald Trump has expressed intentions to reclaim the Panama Canal, a strategic waterway constructed by the United States in the early 20th century. This move has reignited discussions about the canal’s complex history and its geopolitical significance.
My interest in the Panama Canal began in high school when I researched its construction. The project’s complexity and the monumental effort required were captivating. Managed by the United States, the canal’s construction relied on tens of thousands of workers, including many Chinese laborers, who endured harsh conditions. Panama was part of Colombia and with U.S. support, Panama gained independence in 1903, facilitating American oversight of the canal’s construction.
The canal’s construction involved two main phases:
The French Effort (1881–1889): Led by Ferdinand de Lesseps, the French initiated the project in 1881. De Lesseps, who had successfully overseen the construction of the Suez Canal, attempted to apply similar engineering methods in Panama. However, challenging terrain, engineering difficulties, and high worker mortality from diseases like malaria and yellow fever led to the project’s abandonment in 1889.
The American Completion (1904–1914): The United States took over the project in 1904, implementing advanced engineering solutions and extensive disease control measures. This phase culminated in the canal’s official opening on August 15, 1914, marked by the transit of the SS Ancon. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers played a pivotal role in the project’s successful completion.
After declaring independence from Spain in 1821, Panama joined Gran Colombia, a republic that included present-day Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, and Panama. When Gran Colombia dissolved in 1831, Panama remained part of the Republic of New Granada, later known as the Republic of Colombia, until its U.S.-backed independence in 1903.
The Panama Canal Zone, established under the 1903 Hay–Bunau-Varilla Treaty, was a 553-square-mile area over which the United States exercised jurisdiction from 1903 to 1979. This zone spanned the Isthmus of Panama, connecting the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Control of the canal was transferred to Panama on December 31, 1999, following treaties signed in 1977.
In recent years, concerns have arisen over Chinese investments in strategic properties near the canal, leading to debates about regional security. The English-speaking world has historically played a significant role in global affairs, administering strategic land and sea gates like the Suez and Panama Canals. These canals, constructed and managed by the United States, Great Britain, and France, have drastically reduced shipping times by bypassing lengthy routes around continents.
As an amateur radio operator, I frequently communicated with fellow operators in the Canal Zone, who used the call sign prefix “KZ5.” These connections included military personnel, civilian workers, and local Panamanians. In 2017, I visited the canal in person while traveling to Brazil. Staying near the Miraflores Locks, I observed ships passing through—an awe-inspiring sight. Recent expansions have introduced new locks to accommodate larger vessels, incorporating water-recycling systems to conserve resources.
Author Vic Kubik and Jorge de Campos
Passage through the canal is costly, with most ships paying between $600,000 and $700,000 in tolls, and tankers often paying up to $1 million. Approximately 20 ships traverse the canal daily. Specialized crews board each vessel to navigate it through the locks, ensuring precise passage through this narrow waterway.
Under President Jimmy Carter’s administration, the Panama Canal was handed over to Panama, despite the U.S. previously holding rights to the Canal Zone. Ironically, despite having built, operated, and maintained the canal, the U.S. Navy, one of the canal’s largest users, is still required to pay high tolls for its naval vessels. Recently, political tensions surrounding the canal have resurfaced. President Trump suggested that the canal should be returned to U.S. administration, prompting Panama to consider reducing or even eliminating fees for U.S. Navy ships. The canal remains an economic lifeline for Panama, contributing significantly to its GDP. However, it was the United States that freed Panama from Colombian rule and constructed this remarkable engineering marvel.
Reflecting on the canal’s strategic importance and the immense value it provides in global shipping, it’s notable that such critical infrastructure was entrusted to English-speaking nations for so long. This contrasts with Russia, which, despite once controlling vast territories, lacked significant sea gates. While Russia has some of the world’s longest rivers, they mostly flow north into the Arctic Ocean, limiting their effectiveness for global trade. To gain access to the Baltic, Russia had to fight Sweden for the land where it built St. Petersburg. Even then, ships must navigate narrow straits to reach the Atlantic. Similarly, in Ukraine, the port of Odessa provides Black Sea access, but vessels must pass through the narrow Bosporus and Dardanelles straits—once controlled by the British, now under Turkish sovereignty.
Examining these geopolitical realities reveals the strategic importance of controlling land and sea gates. The descendants of Abraham were given prime locations on Earth, seemingly for a divine purpose—to be a light and example to the world. Though they have often faltered in this mission, they were still granted these promises. (Genesis 24:60)
As we approach the latter years of this civilization—before its ultimate redemption through the return of Jesus Christ and the establishment of the Kingdom of God—we can reflect with gratitude and awe on what God has done and what He will yet do for the world. The Bible will gain even greater relevance as we consider Israel’s historical and prophetic role. How wonderful it will be when these people receive God’s Holy Spirit and are finally used to teach the world His ways, His laws, and build prosperity and everlasting peace.

(January 20, 2025) The Historical Inauguration of Donald Trump
In the bitter cold of January 1961, Chief Justice Earl Warren administered the Presidential oath of office to newly elected President, John Fitzgerald Kennedy. Sixty-four years ago, after a closely contested election, President Kennedy assumed command of the nation that helped win the Second World War of the 20th Century, only a decade and a half earlier. Kennedy himself had served as an officer in the Navy, in the war, commanding a motor torpedo boat, the PT-109.
President Kennedy quickly became one of the most popular Presidents in American history. He was a gifted orator. His inaugural address is most remembered for his challenge to the American people; “Ask not what your country can do for you — ask what you can do for your country.” President Kennedys challenge would resonate well today with President Trump’s vision of “Make America Great Again.”
Prophetic Parallel Between President Kennedy and President Trump
In 1961, America was still on the threshold of greatness — a nation on the rise! But challenging the United States from the end of World War II was the threat of communism, and the apparent awesome nuclear power of the United Soviet Socialist Republic. America was definitely in competition with the U.S.S.R. The leader America needed was John F. Kennedy, whose boundless optimism and purpose drove advancement in industry and technology.
Before the tragic assassination of President Kennedy, November 22, 1963, he had determined to dismantle as much of what we now call the “Shadow Government,” or “Deep State.” Privately, he had expressed to his closest confidantes, his determination to abolish the Central Intelligence Agency, which had been responsible for proposing an invasion of Cuba, to overthrow the Castro regime. The failed plan was an embarrassment to the Administration and the nation.
In his farewell address shortly before Kennedy became President, outgoing President Dwight D. Eisenhower warned the nation of the growing power of the “military industrial complex” and the potential for a “scientific-technological elite” to exert influence upon the nation. His warnings became a prophetic declaration which has been fulfilled in the past 65 years in the United States.
It was this power and influence that President Kennedy sought to curtail in his administration, and one that newly elected President Trump is seeking to eliminate. Very likely this week, the secret files which may reveal the truth about the Kennedy assassination and the bad actors actually responsible for his death are to be made public by the Trump administration. In America, this influence is called “the swamp.” It is the combination of unbridled power and influence that has worked against the interests of the people and has engaged the United States in endless wars and futile programs for decades.
In 2025, America has once again turned to a leader who believes in the values upon which the nation was founded on — FREEDOM.
As President Trump is poised to return to the Resolute Desk at the White House later today, he will begin the ambitious plan to return the United States to the pre-eminent power in the world today — but not one that continues to engage in useless wars around the globe. The America that President Trump envisions leads by example, placing the interest of the nation first. Today, the newly elected President will sign over 200 Executive Orders that will repeal the agenda of his predecessor and begin the enormous task of undoing the work of the most corrupt administration in the history of the United States.
Removal of Blessings or the work of evil men?
Bible students and followers of Bible prophecy have often viewed the chapters of Leviticus 26and Deuteronomy 28 as the “Blessings and Cursing’s” chapters. The formula for the ancient nation of Israel — 12 tribes — outlined in these chapters is simple; the nation would reap the bountiful national blessings promised to patriarch Abraham, for obedience. But if the people would not obey God and His laws, they would be cursed. Can we say God has removed his blessing from America, or is there another answer to America’s stumbles and woes for the past six decades?
As President Trump addresses the nation now, after taking the oath of office as the 47th President of the United States, he has acknowledged God’s divine providence in sparing his life and has expressed his desire for the nation to acknowledge God and the importance of law obedience. “I was saved by God to make America great again,” President Trump said today to the nation.
The problems that have plagued the United States have been the result of evil men and women. The Apostle Paul warned of these in 2 Timothy 3:1-5. Paul explained that men cause perilous times by their selfishness, slandering, traitorous acts and denial of the Sovereign God! Paul further explained that the actions of evil men would “grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.” (2 Timothy 3:13)
To the Ephesians, Paul explained that our world is secretly led by an invisible and evil force — the “prince of the power of the air.” The devil — the author of all evil — exerts great influence in those that Paul advised Timothy of — “the sons of disobedience.” (Ephesians 2:2)
Good Men Can Overcome Evil!
Human efforts to thwart satanic influence is limited, but men and women of God are expected to fight back against the evil effects of the devil’s influence by putting on God’s armor: ” For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. (Ephesians 6:12-13)
It is the viewpoint of World News and Prophecy Review that many of the national problems of the past 60 plus years in America have been caused by the actions of evil men, as Paul predicted.
Will America become great again? Only time will tell if President Trump’s agendas can be fully implemented. He was actively opposed by the Deep State powers in his first term, often times from within his own party! But his survival of 2 assassination attempts have only strengthened his resolve to save the Republic. For now, we can pray that righteousness will prevail. We have witnessed the transfer of power from one administration to another, and Proverbs 29:2 echoes the sentiments of many Americans today; “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan.”
Today, America is rejoicing once again!
