Many are falling into the erroneous belief that the current trends of Global governance and Wokeism (i.e. the anti-traditional family and anti-nationhood movement of the elites) are identified with the final Beast system and Babylon of Daniel and Revelation.

Others, looking at only certain trends, think Islam is the Beast; while others choose Russia or China as their candidate. Still others think that America and parts of NW Europe (i.e. the House of Israel) will be the Beast.

What is the feared “Beast” of Daniel 7 and Revelation 13, and how will it arise in the future?

The Beast Template

This author remains of the opinion (held for decades) that the coming Beast will be thought of as a true ‘far right’ leader and system. It will likely be a reaction to today’s form of Globalization which is strongly aligned with “Political Correctness” and Wokeism. Previous “Beast” leaders such as Napoleon, Kaiser Wilhelm II, Mussolini and Hitler reacted to the forces of the Left in their day. It is our belief that something similar will happen in the future — in Europe! Please refer to the attached table comparing the various resurrections of the Roman systems, known through history as the “Holy Roman Empire.”

Over the centuries, the past restorations on the Beast Roman system included an Emperor or person of that stature. Other characteristics included a love-hate relationship with the Catholic Church and the use of the financial and economic powers of their day for their purpose. Many of them similarly had a love-hate relationship with Russia, and with the Islamic world. Both were eventually either attacked or the region invaded. Expect the pattern to continue. Of course, they will be rather progressive when it comes to uplifting the populace and ushering in a new economic model that will be very successful and prosperous. Europe’s shocking debt would have to be, at least partially, settled via the buy back by a European Treasury issuing a European Bond or many debts being wiped during a massive economic downturn. A huge economic surge is too difficult with the current burden of debt, so something has to give.

The Beast will be a group of nations cooperating and working together economically and militarily. From what can be gathered, it will not be today’s European Union – either it will rise out of its demise, or the EU has to be drastically reformed. What May Happen

Perhaps today’s international institutions which were originally established to stabilize the world after WW2 with the USA operating as World Policeman will either be reformed or replaced by new institutions. After all, the UNO, UNESCO, WHO, World Bank, IMF and NATO have become overgrown, corrupt and extreme advocates of globalism. Or the American leadership may withdraw from them. After all, they have become corrupt and no longer fully serve the purposes for which they were originally established.

Will newly elected President Trump’s leadership provide courage to populists and conservatives around the world, and especially in Europe where they are live in fear of speaking out?

As the backlash against Wokeism increases across the globe (and particularly in Europe and South America), expect the world to try and forge some sort of new global system to stabilize the world and eschew Wokeism (either by reforming the above institutions or the establishment of new ones). This will probably be led by Europe.

BUT any new global system will eventually fall apart as the world will eventually divide into several civilisational blocs:

• Europe and its allies in South America and a few (initially) in the Middle East;
• Russia and the East (initially allied with Europe against the House of Israel);
• House of Israel (Anglo-Keltics and NW Europeans);
• King of the South.

These will come into conflict per the Church’s prophetic narrative over the decades.

In the meantime, populists seem to be having a second attempt (over the past 10 years or so) to take back Europe. They are NOT fascists or neo-Nazis, as some claim. The policies of the AFD in Germany, Meloni in Italy, and Le Pen in France are almost identical to those of Thatcher, Kohl, de Gaule etc. The are conservatives but are labelled ‘far right’ by the leftwing media.

There is not the slightest trace of fascism in their leaders or party policies. The media lie to us about so much, why should they now be telling us the truth about the supposed ‘far right’?

Each resurrection of the Beast follows a similar template but have some differing characteristics. The 7^th resurrection will not be Nazi as there is no evidence for that; the nations of Europe will not permit it. The shame of Nazism in Germany is still a powerful motivating factor. The leftwing media are creating a phantom, calling all conservatives ‘far right’ which means Fascist or Nazi. Please see the attached article ‘What will the Beast be like?’

However, what might happen, is that when conservative forces take back Europe, they may decide to clamp down on the Woke Left and slide ever further right. Or an economic and financial upheaval may encourage such a slide and ensuing conflict with the House of Israel.

However, when the real far right juggernaut emerges, it will militarize and become world policeman with allies across the world. Over time it will part ways with the Anglo-Keltic Powers and come into political, religious, economic and ethnic conflict. It’s incredible economy will finance the most tremendous military machine with technologies that will blow our minds. Nothing will be able to stand it is way.

Final Words

Some in the Churches of God have moved toward the view that Globalism and Wokeism is associated with the Beast. However bad a system or religion is, does not make it the Beast. The Beast is a collection of gentile powers that will crush the House of Israel and scatter the Church of God. (Jeremiah 30:7, Daniel 7: 23-25, Revelation 13:4, 7)

It wasn’t hard to project the ultimate outcome of the incoming Biden administration, as President Biden promised to reverse the accomplishments of his predecessor.

Surely, the American voter did not endorse a massive wave of illegal immigration (with some estimates as high as 25 million), higher taxes, a shameful exit from Afghanistan, rampant inflation, higher energy costs, destruction of a Russian natural gas pipeline to West Germany (certified by the research of former New York Times columnist/reporter Seymour Hersh), and a host of other negative results from the outgoing Biden administration. With the help of many independent news sources and researchers, it is apparent that Mr. Biden did not earn the votes of 81 million Americans, and it is also apparent that the landslide win by incoming President Trump would be even larger had there not been another series attempt at election fraud and malfeasance in 2024.

The new administration will have the great challenges to face once it takes office. The greatest problems facing the first Trump White House were a combination of 2 things. First, his campaign was sabotaged by his predecessor, Barak Obama, who authorized then FBI Director James Comey to surveille his campaign, illegally obtaining FISA warrants to do so. In addition, his first administration was under investigation as early as December 2020, when the newly appointed National Security Director General Michael Flynn, was entrapped and falsely accused by FBI agents in a “sting” operation. Secondly, the new President admitted his own naivete to national talk show host, Rush Limbaugh, in a casual conversation only shortly after his inauguration. Mr. Limbaugh asked him what his greatest surprise was after taking the oath of office. Mr. Trump replied, “I thought the hostility would die down and both sides would work together for the good of the nation.”

How sadly mistaken the new President was! Relying on Washington insiders, the President placed many individuals in his new cabinet and administrative posts who actively colluded against his will on many issues, often with members of his own party in the Congress and Senate. The result was 4 years of investigation that continued on the basis of rumor and innuendo, but no evidence. All was an amazement to the newcomer to the political world. The anti “Make America Great Again” movement continued through to the certification of the 2020 election, with the illusion that Trump supporters stirred an insurrection at the Nation’s Capital. With thousands of hours of video evidence presented, independent analysis proved the destruction caused that day was instigated by hundreds of federal operatives.

Perhaps the first act of the newly elected President will be to release from prison the thousands of innocent victims of false accusation and imprisonment, some who weren’t even present at the Capitol on January 6.

Yes, President Trump will inherit a nation that is on the steep slope of decline and decay — but not because God has removed his national blessing entirely. It is because of deliberate actions on the part of his predecessor, Joe Biden, who has a veritable mountain of evidence against of him of high crimes and illegalities, along with his extended family. Many others have participated in the pillaging of the nation for their own gain, and the condemnation of the Bible rigorously rails against these unpatriotic politicians, judges and leaders from various parts of society. They have betrayed the United States for their personal gain as prophesied by the prophet Amos:

Amos 5:4 For thus says the Lord to the house of Israel: “Seek Me and live; ⁵ But do not seek Bethel, Nor enter Gilgal, Nor pass over to Beersheba; For Gilgal shall surely go into captivity, And Bethel shall come to nothing.

Bethel, Gilgal and Beersheba had been ancient places where God’s servants, from Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (Beersheba) to Jeroboam had worshipped, but later all turned idolatrous. Could their modern-day counterparts associated be the three significant capital cities of New York, Philadelphia and Washington, DC.? Each contributed to the rich history of freedom and independence in the origin of our nation, but all have been corrupted.

The “House of Israel” are the modern-day descendants of the sons of Joseph, most famous to many as the Biblical character who was given a coat of many colors by his father Jacob. when he was a young man. Many Bible students understand Joseph’s descendants are the English-speaking peoples of the world today, who have been the leading nations in the world for the past 250 years. And the leading nation for the past century has been the United States. But our leaders have led the nations astray, as Isaiah points out.

Isaiah 3:14 The Lord will enter into judgment With the elders of His people And His princes: “For you have eaten up the vineyard; The plunder of the poor is in your houses.
¹⁵ What do you mean by crushing My people And grinding the faces of the poor?” Says the Lord God of hosts.

Is this not an indictment of many of our national leaders? They have been responsible for allowing tens of millions of illegal aliens into the nation. If that was the only lawless act allowed, it would be horrific on its own merits. But when you combine it with the lack of concern for American citizens who lost everything they own — in Maui, in devastating fires, in Eastern Ohio with a train derailment, and with thousands who have suffered irreparable loss in the southeast recently with tragic circumstances caused by several hurricanes. These American citizens have received almost no help, while the government has given away hundreds of billions of dollars to illegal immigrants and fighting foreign wars in which the United States has almost no national interest.

The prophet was inspired to show that leaders are responsible for the care of national blessings. But many of our leaders have used God’s favor as a persona ATM, cashing out — plundering God’s blessings for themselves.

In this Nation — the United States of America — the people, who have some say in the matter, have said, in the 2024 election, “enough is enough!”

The Holy Bible is filled with dozens of prophetic warnings and indictments of national leaders of our time today! Those guilty need a strong message of warning and call to repentance, because as Isaiah points out, they have ruined God’s vineyard — His special people Israel!

The promise to those wicked, evil leaders is that they will be taken away in horrible national captivity, along with all those they have deceived! (Isaiah 9:14-16, Amos 6:3-7)

As we close this report, we want to stress that World News and Prophecy Review makes no political statement. Christians should not align themselves with political parties, but a Christian should advocate for justice, truth and righteousness!

When any who aspire to leadership depart from the designated role as a servant of the people, it should be pointed out. They have condemned themselves no matter their political affiliation. No one that calls themselves a follower of Jesus Christ should blindly follow any human. The Gospel of Jesus Christ should be taught to all national leaders. They should be held accountable for taking care of God’s vineyard, His people, our nation.

It is our sincere prayer that God will protect all government leaders, as well as all His people. In the article cited above, the musician, Tracy Lawrence used “Cowboy” as a metaphor for the United States, in its role among nations, and like a Cowboy should, act swiftly and justly to right wrongs. (November 19, 2024) EMERGENCY ALERT

In the wake of the most historic election and political comeback in the history of the United States, the world has been thrust into the very real possibility of Nuclear Warfare. NEVER has the world been closer to MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction), the acronym for the nuclear doctrine when extreme provocation is taken by one nuclear power toward another.

United States/President Biden Destabilizing Euro/Russian Region

This is what the United States has done toward Russia within the last 24 hours, with the Ukraine military launching American made ATACMS missiles into Russia’s Bryansk region, within the last 12 hours. ATACMS missiles have a range of about 190 miles and were used to target a Russian weapons depot. The missiles can carry cluster bombs or a single high-explosive warhead — AND these warheads can be switched out to tactical nuclear warheads. An offensive such as this could be easily interpreted by Russia as a tactical nuclear strike.

Today’s strike against Russia is on the heels of the announcement by President Biden on November 17, that the U.S. would allow the use of ATACMS missiles. This policy escalation is insane!

First Strike Doctrine

What makes this action so scary is that it is the doctrine of both Russia and the United States that such action is looked upon as a pretext for launching a 1st Nuclear strike. If that were to happen, the consequences could be a hellish cascade of nuclear warfare between the two largest nuclear powers in the world.

American Culpability

Make no doubt — this isn’t a Ukraine/Russian war — this is American aggression toward Russia! How do we know? It is the U.S. which has broken promises not to expand NATO to the Russian borders, on several occasions over the past 40 years, beginning with promises made to Russian leaders. First, the U.S. and NATO promised not to expand further eastward as result of German reunification in 1990. Secretary of State, James Baker, promised Mikael Gorbachev that NATO would not expand “1 inch east” if the Soviet Union would agree to allow the 2 Germany’s to unite. But afterwards, NATO expanded to Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia, all former satellite states of the Soviet Union., Under the Clinton administration, the United States relentlessly bombed Serbia, interpreted as continued threatening action toward Russia.

By breaking several promises, and most recently orchestrating a coup in 2014, toward the Ukranian President, Viktor Yanukovych, the United States, with minimal help from other NATO countries, had been active in promoting the current Ukraine conflict. The removal was orchestrated by the United States State Department, led by Victoria Nuland, (Ukranian born) Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs. Yanukovych fled to Russia following his removal from office. Eventually, a former comic actor, Volodymyr Zelenskyy was elected President of Ukraine, in 2019.

In April 2022, peace talks between Russia and Ukraine were scuttled by then Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who advised Zelenskyy not to agree to peace terms, in talks conducted in Turkey. The question is “WHY?” Why would the west, represented by Boris Johnson, actively promote a continuation of conflict? The reason is the same that President Biden has agreed to even greater and more dangerous conflict just hours ago!

The Role of Evil Leaders

The Russian/Ukrainian conflict has resulted in over 600,000 deaths on both sides. If the west had only respected the promise not to place ballistic missiles on the Russian border in Ukraine, this bloodshed and destruction could have been avoided.

But it is not in the interest of certain world leaders, both elected heads of State as well as unelected bureaucrats, or the Military Industrial Complex to have peace. Do you need Biblical affirmation? Here it is:

Two Important Prophetic Trends

Understanding the insanity of the present-day events require not only a understanding of the world and current events, but a Biblical worldview, provided by Bible Prophecy.

In Ephesians 2:2, Paul explained that the prince of the power of the air, the Devil, has not only deceived the entire world, but additionally works in a far greater way in “the sons of disobedience.” This means that the “god of this world” (2 Corinthians 4:4) has a far greater effect on the thoughts and actions of those who are disobedient to God, and hate His law! This is corroborated by Paul’s comments to Timothy, in which he describes the perilous times of the end, which will be orchestrated by men who are unholy, unloving, traitors (especially significant within the United States when elected officials and others are acting against the best interests of the United States by advocating for war, and openly assisting enemies of the America!) and brutal despisers of good. There could be not better characterization of the current leaders of the United States and others sprinkled throughout the world, orchestrating policies that will bring about the demise of the United States and the West. (2 Timothy 3:1-4)

Paul goes on to expand on this prophetic premise by explaining that “evil men and imposters, will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.” (2 Timothy 3:13) Filled with hubris and power, evil leaders are the ones who are totally plugged into the Satan’s influence. Not only do they seek to deceive as to their own motivation, their compounded lies and deceit serve to only harden their resolve and self-deception.

Why Now?

The reason for the escalation of the Ukranian conflict is the recent election of President Trump. The incoming President has promised to end this conflict quickly. Although WN&PR realizes that all human leaders have liability, shortcoming and flaws, amazingly, even to his harshest critics, the former and future President has called on America to return to God and a belief in the Bible, more so than any of his predecessors.

Recently, Donald Trump declared, “Many people have told me that God spared my life for a reason, and that reason was to save our country and to restore America to greatness”. This statement was made during his victory speech after the election. In a recent commercial for a Bible sold by American musician, Lee Greenwood, Donald Trump emphasizes the importance of faith and the Bible in American life. He mentioned that the Bible is a cornerstone of American values and encourages people to return to these foundational principles.

Americans agree with these sentiments, to a greater degree than those who oppose the values upon with the United States was founded. This explains both the result of the recent election, as well as the heightened conflict in Ukraine. The evil leaders within this nation and elsewhere, are determined to undermine the results of the recent election, by handing an ever-expanding war that will be more difficult to end, to the incoming President.

The World Won’t End In Nuclear Warfare

Jesus Christ promised that He would intervene in the affairs of mankind, with His return, before man could destroy himself. He told His disciples, shortly before His crucifixion, that although there is a coming time of “great tribulation” greater than at any time in history, His return would put a halt to man and the devil’s hostilities, and that the sure extinction of mankind would be averted by His return! (Matthew 24:21-22) The days of the “Great Tribulation” would end before man can destroy himself through nuclear carnage!

That doesn’t mean there won’t be a time of warfare that includes nuclear devices. In fact the description given in Revelation 9 seem to indicate nuclear conflict (Revelation 9:5-10) with death and the result of possible radiation poisoning.

What Can You Do?

As citizens of this world, as well as belonging to a “heavenly country,” the Kingdom of God (Hebews 12:22) most of us have no power to influence the events of today.

Or do we? The answer is that YOU are not powerless in this world, today or in the future! We can all have a great effect with our prayer and devotion to God.

Through the prophet Ezekiel, God proclaimed a blessing upon those who are grieved with the results of this satanic world. He told Ezekiel; ” . . .“Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and put a mark on the foreheads of the men who sigh and cry over all the abominations that are done within it.” (Ezekiel 9:4)

We can pray and ask for God’s divine intervention on the events of this world, to prevent the death of innocents. By this the individual Christian promotes peace!

Eventually, Jesus will return and initiate total peace for 1,000 years! (Revelation 20:6) But meanwhile, knowing God’s plan for mankind can help you deal with the frightening crisis we are currently experiencing, as well as future events.

Philippians 4:6-7 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Against all odds, former President Donald J. Trump made the most incredible comeback in American history tonight.

President Elect Trump, in recent weeks, took nothing for granted, campaigning in front of huge crowds in multiple states each day for weeks. The energy of the 78-year-old candidate has been nothing short of astounding.

Speaking to his supporters tonight in Florida, declaring victory in the most contentious political campaign ever contested, Donald Trump’s remarks were short, unifying and gracious.

The Future of America

It is likely that in the morning hours and days ahead, the election will be contested. Reports from Pennsylvania indicate that truckloads of ballots were being transported to polling areas after the polls had closed. It is also very likely that millions of ballots were cast illegally by non-citizens and there were numerous reports prior to November 5 of machine malfunction,

Miraculously, the Republican ticket was able to overcome investigation, demonization, impeachment, indictment, two assassination attempts, and a media assault unrivaled in American politics.

We will revisit this after the inauguration, but in the short term, Americans can expect to pay far less for energy costs, and virtually all other household expenses, because higher energy costs have led to rampant inflation.

Candidate Trump also indicated that he would support tax initiatives that would spur economic growth, eliminating income taxes on tips, social security income and even the elimination of income tax! While critics suggest these ideas would lead to greater deficits, the opposite is true. Eliminating federal income tax would spur economic growth exponentially as Americans would have 20-40% more disposable income. Replacing income tax would be a national sales tax which at first sounds onerous but considering business would be unburdened by complying with tax law, prices of goods and services would remain stable.

The Future of the Gospel

The election of Donald J. Trump to a second term is an affirmation of the American people’s desire for freedom of speech. In Trump’s previous term, he eliminated the enforcement, by Executive Order, the Johnson Amendment, a 1954 portion of the IRS code that prohibited nonprofit organizations from endorsing or opposing political candidates. Lyndon Johnson sponsored this revision because he wanted to limit the endorsement of his political opponents by churches and others with nonprofit status. It was Johnson’s way of silencing opposition. Trump’s order effectively eliminated retaliation to Churches for expressing what could be interpreted as “political.”

A Trump administration will allow Churches to continue to express their view on political matters that include criticism of government, if the Church is so inclined to offer an opinion, without losing their tax-exempt status.

Jesus proclaimed, in Matthew 24:14: “And this good news of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the world, as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.”

The “Good News” is that the Kingdom of God will replace all human governments. Where man’s government with its various iterations and types has failed, God’s government will not!

But here is the interesting aspect of the recent divisive American political contest — just as the election of Donald Trump will not be well received or welcomed with open arms by his political opponents, the government of God will also not be endorsed by the leaders of the earth. The time of the establishment of the government of God will be met by fierce opposition by the nations of the earth! (Revelation 11:18)

Finally, World News and Prophecy Review is hopeful that human governments will allow the freedom of expression that will allow the Good News of God’s Kingdom to be preached!

World News and Prophecy Review

(November 5, 2024) Millions of Americans have already cast their votes in the most important Presidential election in the history of America, and many millions more will be casting their votes today.

There is only one thing that separates former President Trump from one of the most stunning political comebacks in the history of American politics.

History — A Prelude to The Future?

The most similar parallel to President Trumps candidacy, in American politics is the incredible victory by Richard M. Nixon in 1968, after he had suffered defeat in the 1960 Presidential election, and his loss in the California Gubernatorial election in 1962. In defeat, a bitter Nixon told the press; “You won’t have Nixon to kick around anymore.”

American politics has always been an ugly business. In Nixon’s case, he went on to become an effective President, and though the stain of the Watergate scandal ruined his second term in office, for much of his Presidency, he was the most popular President in American history.

What ruined the Nixon Presidency, and what threatened the 45th President in his first term, and his re-election bid are similar — a deeply entrenched deep state that is opposed to having the veil of secrecy being lifted and the light shined on its sinister operations.

In Nixon’s case, he wanted to end the Viet Nam war. It finally did end, after his exit from office, but in a shameful retreat instead of an honorable treaty or armistice.

Nixon had been made aware of the “who” behind the assassination attempt on President Kennedy, though he never made that knowledge public. Shortly after he confided this information to the Director of the CIA, Richard Helms, the scandal of Watergate broke. Retrospectively, though Nixon was not involved in ordering the break in of a Democrat office in the Watergate complex, after it was determined that he had been briefed and denied knowledge of the crime, he became the target of the press and his political opponents.

But in 1972, Nixon had the most lopsided win in Presidential history, with 520 electoral votes while winning 49 states. There was no threat to his campaign that would have motivated him to be involved in the minor break in at the Watergate offices. Coincidentally, that operation was coordinated by former CIA operatives, E. Howard Hunt and James McCord.

The agonizing public spectacle of the Watergate hearings in the early 1970’s, not only permanently damaged the reputation, needlessly, of a popular President, it cemented the power of behind-the-scenes political brokers who could influence the decision making of the most powerful office on earth. Nixon’s former boss, Dwight Eisenhower warned the American public of this emerging influence in America in his last national address, in January 1960, as he named the “Military Industrial Complex” as a dangerous influence in American politics.

Acting on that warning may have been the fatal blow for President Kennedy and may have been the incentive for deep state operatives to conspire against President Nixon, as each of them had been moved to make changes to the CIA, Federal Reserve Bank and various other governmental agencies.

The Danger Then — The Danger Today

Although the world has changed drastically since the 1970’s a constant has been the supremacy of the United States as a superpower. But Bible Prophecy shows that a demise of the “American Century” is inevitable.

Many students of the Bible understand the relationship between the promises of God to His people for obedience, and curses for disobedience. These were clearly specified to the children of Israel in Leviticus 26 and Deuteronomy 28. Prophecy students also recognize the relationship between the descendants of Israel and who these people are today. Think about it — with the dozens of Bible prophecies that specify the “last days,” — prior to the return of Jesus Christ — doesn’t it make sense that the most powerful nations in the last 250 years of man’s history, the English-speaking peoples of the world, would be mentioned?

Why America Can Fail!

It is an easy choice to identify the average citizen as a sinner, because the Bible shows that “. . .all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)

But is this the correct choice when assessing the health of a nation? Is your next-door neighbor the one you should fear in the downfall of the American Republic? What and whom does Bible prophecy identify as those most responsible for the direction of a nation and whom does God hold indict in many prophecies?

The Crisis In — Leadership!

Dozens of Bible prophecies indicate the primary problem in our modern societies are the leaders — the shepherds, prophets, elders, rulers, priests, judges and chiefs who improperly use their offices to rule over the people unjustly — perverting justice, taking bribes, defrauding the helpless and needy, causing the people to stumble and ruin society! The modern-day equivalents are not only politicians, Kings, Prime Ministers, Congressman, Senators and Judges, but also anyone in the public sphere with the authority to coerce action and influence behaviors. Note Isaiah 3:14-15:

“The Lord enters into judgment against the elders and leaders of his people: ‘It is you who have ruined my vineyard; the plunder from the poor is in your houses. What do you mean by crushing my people and grinding the faces of the poor?’ declares the Lord, the Lord Almighty.” (NIV)

This passage and many others implicate those leaders in the modern world who take advantage of and ruin God’s heritage, Israel — HIS people who He describes as a precious vineyard. God’s vineyard deserves attentive tending, protection and nourishment to produce good fruit, but the modern leaders who are unrighteous have all too often used the people for their own advantage, and nothing has been more revealing than the ends the evil and unrighteous leaders of society will go to in order to satisfy their selfish ambitions!

God holds the unrighteous, evil leaders of our modern nations responsible for leading His people astray and abusing them! (Zechariah 10:2-3) They will be punished for their evil deeds!

Not All Modern Leaders Are Evil

Some leaders truly want to help restore and help the common man. But an identifying mark of the “end times” is that those who stand up for the rights of the people and strive for the good are despised. Amos 5:10-13 is certainly a reflection of our modern age:

“They hate the one who reproves in the gate, and they abhor the one who speaks the truth. ¹¹ Therefore because you trample on the poor and take from them levies of grain,
you have built houses of hewn stone, but you shall not live in them; you have planted pleasant vineyards, but you shall not drink their wine. ¹² For I know how many are your transgressions and how great are your sins— you who afflict the righteous, who take a bribe and push aside the needy in the gate. ¹³ Therefore the prudent will keep silent in such a time, for it is an evil time.” (New Revised Standard Version)

Can you identify such corrupt leaders among us, in our modern nations today? It shouldn’t be hard. And you’d better become an expert at understanding good and evil in the modern world. In today’s world such leaders are outspoken opponents of free speech, protecting the unborn, removing individual civil liberties, and incessant war mongers’, for the purpose of financial gain. In the modern nations of the descendants of Israel today (the United States and other English-speaking nations) the prophet Amos was inspired to condemn such leaders and pronounce a very specific curse upon them. He wrote that they weren’t grieved by the calamity they had caused the nation, and they were the chief beneficiaries of national betrayal, and because of their treachery and selling out their own nation, they would be the first to go into national captivity! (Amos 6:3-7)

Will November 5, 2024 Be A Landslide Victory?

In the beginning of this article the suggestion was made that there is only one element separating former President Trump from an astounding political comeback. The resilience of the 45th President has been amazing. Before he even took office, his campaign was spied upon by his predecessor, he was constantly attacked, investigated, many of his supporters were harassed, he has been impeached twice (not convicted), indicted by his political foes, yet continues to win the support and approval of many millions of Americans. Why?

Because many of them recognize the system, the political operatives, and the deep state for the same reasons the Bible convicts the unjust leaders among us. They recognize the injustice associated with the illegitimate attempts to remove him from office in his first term, the flagrant election fraud that denied his second term in 2020, and the people understand that his candidacy, which has attracted the support of Tucker Carlson, Tulsi Gabbard, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., Elon Musk, Nicole Sheridan, Vivek Ramaswamy, Joe Rogan, and many others, is truly concerned for the good of the American people and devoid of personal gain.

There have been too many reports of various types of election meddling, fraud and malfeasance with early voting, faulty machines, fake ballots, etc., to mention here. But barring a cheating scandal of monumental proportion, Donald J. Trump is likely to regain office once again. Only God, and people led by God can make America Great Again, and it seems, from the comments Donald Trump has made, that he understands that better than anyone.

(October 30, 2024) With just 5 days left before the most consequential election in the history of the United States, is America really at the crossroads?
In terms of the choice of the people, no.  But the actions of relatively few could decide the future course of the most powerful and prosperous nation in history.

Does God Choose National Leaders?

From a Biblical/Prophetic perspective, how is the Presidential election to be understood?  Many Christians believe God chooses national leaders, to fit His prophetic framework.  Some interpret a single prophecy from the book of Daniel regarding the reign of King Nebuchadnezzar as a template for all worldly offices.  This example is found in Daniel 4: 32

“And they shall drive you from men, and your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field. They shall make you eat grass like oxen; and seven times shall pass over you, until you know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever He chooses.” (Emphasis ours)

The message in this prophecy was to Nebuchadnezzar and his Kingdom of Babylon, not every kingdom or nation of man, as the prophetic dream, message and interpretation given to Daniel was intended for a sole recipient — Nebuchadnezzar.  It is not a prophecy that includes all Kings, Presidents, Prime Ministers or other leaders through history.

In some instances, God has chosen certain individuals to either fit His purpose, or to fulfill His word, as in the case of the prophecy of the Persian King Cyrus, 160 years earlier by the prophecy Isaiah. (Isaiah 44:28: Who says of Cyrus, ‘He is My shepherd, And he shall perform all My pleasure, Saying to Jerusalem, “You shall be built,” And to the temple, “Your foundation shall be laid.” ’)

From the Garden of Eden, God has allowed men to make their own choices — free moral agency.  In the United States, the system of governance is designed for the electorate to choose their leaders through a balanced system of popular and electoral vote.  In the best of worlds, this system would allow us to gauge the true will of the people and to assess their moral value overall as a society.  Will the 2024 Presidential and down ballot election be free and fair?  Only if the upcoming election results could be trusted to be the will of the American voter, could the health of the nation be calculated fairly.

This is a question, or issue because of the substantial body of evidence that has accrued since the Presidential election of 2020 and the midterm elections of 2022 with the accusation of election interference, election fraud and malfeasance.  It is not the purpose of this report to cite or validate the numerous citations or proof.

The greatest question for students of Bible Prophecy is how to evaluate the Presidential election?

Prophetic Trends of the 21st Century

While it is important to understand that God does not select every single national leader and that He has allowed man to make his choice of government for the past 6,000 years, it is also important to recognize that there is a god of this world, whose aim and ambition is contrary to the interest of God and humanity.  (2 Corinthians 4:4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.)

Satan’s objective is to deceive mankind, and as Paul also explained to the Ephesians, he is the “Prince of the power of the air,” (Ephesians 2:2) 

As we trace his involvement through history, from the time of the deception of Adam and Eve to our present world, his involvement in the affairs of man is apparent in many ways. Indeed, he has deceived the entire world, and Paul indicates that everyone has been influenced by this diabolical and wicked being; “in which you once walked according to the course of this world”

His deception takes the form of ideas and thoughts that lead away from the true God and His commands.  Though we have all been subject to the deception of this world, the greatest effect of the devil is described in the last part of the verse; “the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience,”

This means that the devil’s greatest work is done in those who have no intention in obedience to God or His commands.  As such, Paul is not painting all humanity with a broad brush of condemnation.  The work of the devil is greatest among those who disregard law, morality and justice.  This explains the Machiavellian attitude of the “end justifies the means,” because if there is no God or morality, then any action is justified to obtain one’s unholy ambition.

This is one of the most important prophetic trends of this present evil age (Galatians 1:4), from which we ask God’s deliverance!

Along with the deception and influence of the devil, the Apostle Paul warned those of us living today — “in the last days,” that “perilous times will come.” (2 Timothy 3:1)

Why are the last days troublesome and perilous?  Paul continues to show that men (some, certainly not all) would be blasphemous, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, despisers of good and traitors, among other descriptors. (2 Timothy 3:2-3)

Additionally, Paul prophesied that men would become more and more evil and deceptive.  With the understanding that the god of this world is influencing and deceiving those in whom is no fear of God, it is obvious that it is within the leadership of this world that is most fearsome, and in whom is the greatest threat to humanity. (2 Timothy 3:13)

The 47th President of the United States

The phrase “Make America Great Again,” has been demonized to such an extent that in some areas of the nation, it might be dangerous to identify with the “MAGA” movement.  So, who doesn’t want American to be great?  Not just great for its own citizens, but for the entire world?  The populist movement is often misunderstood.  While it is a movement of restoration of national pride, it is also one of not advocating for war but seeking peace with all nations on earth.  It protects the life of the unborn, and the freedom of speech, as well as the determination to disengage from seemingly endless wars abroad.

World News & Prophecy Review cannot predict the future.  Our advocacy is for a climate that will allow the freedom of expression as the Apostle Paul stated, “that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel,” (Ephesians 6:19)

Finally, should Christians have preference for political candidates?  In Romans 13, Paul shows that members of the body of Christ should be respectful citizens because governmental offices operate under the overall jurisdiction of God.  There is a caveat to governmental submission though.  Those who occupy offices of authority in this world are to be “ministers of good.”  Christians should respect and obey the laws and leaders which are in conformity with the Law of God.  If man’s leaders do not respect God, His Law, but instead are evil and advocates of breaking law and hurtful to their fellow man, there is no expectation of obedience to them.

Therefore, it is not contrary to God’s will to ask that “God bless America!”

(July 17, 2024) In the aftermath of the heinous assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, how should Christians evaluate this unthinkable act?

The Rise of Evil

Bible Prophecy can help us understand and properly frame the chaos we witnessed last Saturday, as well as help explain what we can expect in the days, months and years ahead. In a very general sense, a major catastrophic event, such as an assassination of a former President perfectly fits into the prophetic framework of the end time. We read, in 2 Timothy 3:

But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: ² For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, ³ unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good,

Paul was inspired to write that the time before Jesus Christ’s dramatic return to earth would be filled with tumultuous, life-threatening events — orchestrated by evil men (and women).

Evil Men Leading to Societal Decline

Paul warned Timothy — and us, that men motivated by greed and ungodly behavior will stop at nothing to achieve their ends. Paul didn’t mean that all men would be this way, but specifically those men and women who express an irreverence and massive disrespect toward God and sacred matters. These people despise those who do good with every fiber of their beings. These are those the prophet Isaiah was inspired to write about; “Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!” (Isaiah 5:20)

If we have learned anything through the last 5 years, it is that there is an acceleration of the impetus or inspiration that would cause the twisting of values that promotes gender confusion, sexual deviancy to young school age children and an absolute hatred toward those who endorse biblical and family values. This inspiration has touched every segment of our society, and the impact within the last beacon of freedom in the world — the United States of America — has been profound. In short, we have godless leaders who are attempting to normalize aberrant behavior.

Later, in his letter to Timothy, Paul warned that the perilous, end time world would continue in a cascade of decadence because “. . .  evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.” (2 Timothy 3:13)

Behind Evil Men and Women

As students of Bible Prophecy, how can we explain the tragic events of last Saturday? Was the assassination attempt on Donald Trump, which resulted in the death of Corey Comperatore, a 50-year-old former fire chief from Sarver, Pennsylvania, simply the act of a lone, crazed 20-year-old? Or are more sinister forces at play?

In the days after the attempted assassination of Donal Trump, we have learned that the shooter had unfettered access to a critical position on a roof only 130 yards away from President Trump, with clear line of sight — on top of the Command Post of the Secret Service! That anyone could penetrate through the various layers of security so easily is unimaginable. There are too many outstanding questions at this time to comprehend the enormity and gravity of what could have been. The shooter was on the roof for a full 26 minutes, unhampered by the Secret Service and Police even though they were notified by dozens of witnesses!

Is it wrong to question the official narrative of a lone shooter, acting on his own insane impulses? Many other clues have emerged in the last few days that lead to other conclusions.

One such anomaly is that “short interest” in DJT stock, Trump’s media company, more than doubled from July 1 to July 12. This means that individuals or large organizations placed a massive bet that DJT stock would collapse on Monday, July 15. This could mean that someone had advance knowledge of the events of July 14, thinking the stock would plummet. Had the assassination been successful, short sellers could have made hundreds of millions of dollars this past Monday. Coincidence? Instead, the stock soared, forcing the closure of short positions, incurring huge losses for the short sellers.

In addition to the facts that have been revealed about the failed protection of the Secret Service, numerous former U.S. Special Forces snipers have commented that there were too many obvious problems with the security lapses for the operation not to be planned. Florida Congressman Corey Mills, former member of the 82nd Airborne, interviewed on CNN, questioned whether the event was an accident or deliberate standdown on the part of the Secret Service. If true, this does not bode well for the future of candidate Trump, or the United States because it is unlikely that evil men and women will cease in their ultimate objective.

In Ephesians 2, the Apostle Paul explains that there is a dynamic spiritual presence within our world. This force is the source and inspiration of evil men; “in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience,” (verse 2, emphasis ours).

This means that the influence of the devil, who was marooned on this planet eons ago, when he rebelled against the government of God (Isaiah 14:17-15), has its most fertile ground in the minds of evil men who have no regard for God or the Law of God.

Overall, this explains the assassination attempt on Donald Trump. Former President Trump has vowed to end the war in Ukraine, stop illegal immigration, deport all those who have entered the nation illegally, restore the Keystone Pipeline, make America energy independent once again and advance the interests of the American people. For making American great again, he is hated, because that goal is contrary to the forces, internal and external who oppose that agenda.

Action Item

Since you are reading this newsletter, you are a person deeply convicted that it is God who is control of His plan and will execute that plan to usher in His Kingdom. Human Kingdoms and governments can be led by vicious, incorrigibly evil people, and often have through man’s history. Since it is the mission of God’s Holy People to proclaim this coming Kingdom, let us unite in prayer and ask God to protect all leaders who respect God and His purpose, so that “. . .this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.” (Matthew 24:14)

(July 14, 2024) America, and the world was shocked yesterday with the news of the attempt on the life of former President Donald Trump.

While the media and the public are digesting the information, sorting through all the reports, many are horrified over the events. Sadly, a very vocal, but small number on various social media platforms have expressed their disappointment that the shooter missed!

Certainly, Donald Trump has been a lightning rod of both praise and criticism since he announced his 1^st candidacy prior to the 2016 Presidential election.  It is now well known that his campaign in 2015-16 was spied upon by the opposition party.  Then, during his Presidency he was criticized, investigated, impeached and opposed constantly.  And in the last few years of the current Presidential campaign opposition leaders have labeled Trump as a “nazi,” or “fascist,” or warned that he wanted to become a Dictator of the United States.  Is it any surprise then, after the constant refrain of condemnation and indictments results in a misguided and radical, insane expression such as an assassination attempt?

Indeed, many in the entertainment and media have openly called for Trump to be killed! Several years ago, a comedienne had her picture taken holding the decapitated head of the President. An actor asked in a public speech; “when was the last time an actor killed a President(?), signaling his desire to reenact the assassination of President Lincoln and a former pop star said she would like to “blow up the White House.” Popular TV talk show hosts have also expressed their desire to see Trump killed.

Failed Protection

As many are sifting through the events of yesterday, many ask; “how could this have happened?”

Good question!  Quite honestly, to expect a fair evaluation of the security gaffes at this event, when the government is essentially investigating itself, is probably a hopeless cause.  But no matter who is ultimately at fault, it’s hard to explain how a shooter was able to breach a perimeter of security, composed of local law enforcement, State Police, Secret Service, possibly the FBI, with an automatic weapon, access an ideal rooftop location only 130 yards from the lectern, with a perfect line of sight.

When Donald Trump was whisked away to safety, a Trump supporter reported to the BBC that he and numerous others warned local law enforcement that they saw the shooter climbing up to the roof with a rifle, but their plea for investigation wasn’t heeded. Other failures, according to the information available now, but needing further corroboration, are the accounts of one of the Secret Service snipers, asking to engage the assassin shortly after he spotted him on the roof of the adjacent building, but was denied permission to engage.  It was only after the shooting began that the shooter was neutralized.

Though ignored by most of the media, the question remains as to a) how a shooter gained access b) why law enforcement officers didn’t treat citizen warnings seriously and c) if not a coordinated effort to take out a popular Presidential candidate, then the incompetence of the security detail is equally troubling.

2024 Election

With only 113 days until the election, it is very likely that yesterday’s assassination attempt will alert more of the American public to the dangers of present evil world.

The Republican National Convention convenes in Milwaukee on Monday and will present a further opportunity for Donald Trump to appeal to the nation to come together for the good of the nation.

As the recent public appearances of President Biden reveal his increasing challenges in mental acuity and stamina, projecting Donald Trump as a runaway winner of the Presidential election is very likely, in a fair election.

America’s Future

Donald Trump has promised to end the war in Ukraine, restore the energy dominance the U.S. had toward the end of his first term and return to America first policies which were popular.

While these policies would help restore economic confidence and send a strong message to the rest of the world, it may be too late in cycle of decline for America.

But if Donald Trump can continue the momentum of his campaign and win a decisive election in November, it could be a good sign for the proclamation of a much better government in the future, not only for America, but for the entire world!

One of the signs Jesus Christ gave His disciples of his coming, is found in Matthew 24:14 “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.”

“Gospel” means “Good News.”  And Bible prophecy, in hundreds of passages, describes a Kingdom of Peace, governed by Jesus Christ which will teach peace, not war, as a way of life.  And eventually that way of life will become commonplace for all mankind.  The nations of the earth will rejoice, as described in Isaiah2:2-4:

Now it shall come to pass in the latter days That the mountain of the Lord’s house Shall be established on the top of the mountains,

And shall be exalted above the hills; And all nations shall flow to it. 3 Many people shall come and say, “Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, To the house of the God of Jacob;

He will teach us His ways, And we shall walk in His paths.” For out of Zion shall go forth the law, And the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

4 He shall judge between the nations, And rebuke many people; They shall beat their swords into plowshares, And their spears into pruning hooks;

Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, Neither shall they learn war anymore.

Donald Trump, and America literally “dodged a bullet” yesterday.  May God protect he and his family through these tumultuous days and bless America so the Gospel message may continue to be proclaimed!

Wars & Rumors of Wars

The reasons for the Ukraine conflict are complex. Sadly, intervention by the United States and United Kingdom seem to have exacerbated the conflict rather than focus on a peaceful solution. Twice, once recently in Kyiv, and in 2022, in Istanbul, former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson urged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to withdraw from negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Many Euro/Russian experts have expressed the view that the United States is content on waging a prolonged, proxy war with Russia. If true, the real losers are the hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians who have lost their lives in the conflict. Additionally, there are also numerous reports of United States sponsored bio-weapons laboratories in the Ukraine, as well as other sinister, western sponsored activities that Russia claims to have knowledge of. Whatever the truth is, it is doubtful that it will all come to light very soon.

Ukraine — A Humanitarian Nightmare

As politicians, religious leaders, pundits, and ideological enthusiasts’ debate as they view maps and study prophetic charts, we confront the harsh realities of bloodshed and sorrow, searching for meaning. It has been two years since the onset of the war, a period that has unfolded like a suspenseful movie with an uncertain ending. With over 40 years of travel and supporting Ukranian Sabbath keepers, and many other groups, the story of the devastation in Ukraine is very personal and deeply disturbing to me. We have met many wonderful people in our many visits to Ukraine. To see the tragedy unfold for my friends and relatives is like a dystopian vision.

The presence of troops, tanks, explosions, artillery, mines, missiles, and death has marked the conflict. A 100-mile-long convoy headed towards Kyiv at the start of the war, but much of it was destroyed by the Ukrainian forces. Initially, there was a smug assumption that Ukraine would fall like Crimea, with plans even made for installing a new government and dinner reservations in Kyiv’s restaurants after a swift, victorious invasion. However, Ukraine’s response in the initial battles shattered these expectations. Two years later, Kyiv is still under Ukrainian control.

The city of Kharkiv, where my mother’s family hails from, was subsequently attacked. My second cousin, Roman, perished in the assault, buried under rubble for weeks before his body was recovered. While my cousin managed to evacuate to Western Ukraine, the desire to return home as spring approached was strong. He came back to his home, pets and garden. Eventually, the Ukrainian army reclaimed Kharkiv.

The city of Chernihiv, located about 110 miles north of Kyiv which has suffered bombings resulting in many civilian casualties. Our children’s rehabilitation center, which we have supported for 25 years, is in this city. Tragically, our accountant and her husband were killed by an artillery shell. We mourn these losses deeply. The military and civilian losses are in the hundreds of thousands and over 600 innocent children have perished.

My nephew Colin, from Spokane, Washington, studied in Lviv’s comparatively safer Western city. Last July, amidst the ongoing conflict, my brother Eugene and his wife Sherry attended Colin’s graduation from college in Lviv, where missiles landed the day after the ceremonies.

One-fifth of Ukraine’s population was initially evacuated and welcomed by nations worldwide. Yet, Ukrainians long for the war to end and to return home. The welcome from neighboring nations is wearing out. The fatigue from the prolonged conflict for all of us is becoming unbearable. Despite this weariness, we persevere, sending financial aid to both Chernihiv’s children and Western Ukraine for volunteer missions to the war zones, all while carrying the weight of our exhausted hearts.

The final collapse of England, Canada, Australia, New Zealand?

There is a phrase mentioned in Jeremiah 30 which is unique in word and meaning. It is only used once in the Bible and it refers to a time that will also, only happen once. It is a time of great and terrible trouble, the likes of which has never been seen before and will never be seen again. It is the time of “Jacob’s Trouble” (Jeremiah 30:7).

Although this phrase is only used once, the time it refers to is discussed at length in various other places, including Matthew 24 and Daniel 12.

Daniel 12:1 says “At that time Michael shall stand up, the great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people; And there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation, Even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, Every one who is found written in the book”.

Matthew 24:21 says “For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be”.

This time of unparalleled destruction and calamity has become known as “The Great Tribulation”, which takes its name from the description of that time given in Matthew 24:21. A comparison to other passages including Revelation 6:9 shows this to be a name and description for the events occuring during the opening of “the fifth seal” of Revelation. 

A detailed examination of related passages reveals that this time of great and terrible trouble, will be a period of three and a half years, also referred to as “Forty Two months” (Revelation 11:2), or “1,260 days” (Revelation 12:6).

What is often overlooked however is the purpose of this period. God does nothing without a definite purpose and plan. All He does is carefully designed to bring about His ultimate aim, which is that “all should come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9) and “that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

But repentance from what and how?

Isaiah 53:6 says All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the LORD has laid on Him [Jesus Christ] the iniquity of us all.

All mankind has gone astray from obedience to God and in living by his righteous law of love for God and neighbour. In His love, God has put in place a plan to allow forgiveness and reconciliation through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The scripture tells us though, that mankind will not easily listen, and a time of terrible trouble is going to be brought about, in order to shake the world, awake and turn the hearts of the people to their God.

How then does “the Great Tribulation” relate to “Jacob’s Trouble”; are they one and the same thing?

Not quite.

“The Great Tribulation” comes upon the whole world, but “Jacob’s Trouble” refers to a specific part within that wider Tribulation, the part which directly affects the modern-day descendants of Jacob.

Who Was — Who Is Jacob?

How then in prophecy, are the modern-day descendants of Jacob identified?

Jacob was the son of Isaac and the grandson of Abraham. God changed Jacob’s name to “Israel” (Genesis 32:28). In blessing his son Joseph, Israel [Jacob] placed his blessing and name upon Joseph’s two sons Ephraim and Manasseh; “let my name be named upon them” (Genesis 48:16).

As we study end time prophecy, we see that the name “Israel” is used to refer to the descendants of Joseph, Ephraim and Manasseh. It is also used to refer to those descended from the Northern Kingdom of Israel more widely.

Sometimes “Ephraim” is also used and when used in connection with “Israel”, suggests the descendants of Joseph’s two sons are in mind. The context must be taken into account when trying to determine who is being referred to.

One critical example in end time prophecy where the descendants of Jacob are discussed, is Hosea 5.

This section of Hosea is a stark warning of judgement upon national Israel.

Not only the modern-day Jewish State of Israel (which is included under the reference to “Judah”), but the descendants of the entire nation of Israel.

The judgement pronounced in Hosea 5 is profound; God says that the nation “stumbles”.

This word may sound rather innocuous, but its meaning in the Hebrew includes (and it is translated in other places as) “fall”, “stumble”, “cast down”, “feeble”, “overthrown” and “ruin”.

Hosea 5:5 says: The pride of Israel testifies to his face; Therefore Israel and Ephraim stumble [are cast down, overthrown, laid to ruin] in their iniquity; Judah also stumbles with them.

God, in judgement of the sins of the descendants of Jacob, casts down and overthrows their nations. Verse 7 suggests this happens within the space of just a single month (“a New Moon”).

The previous chapter of Hosea says: “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children” (Hosea 4:6)

God’s word is very plain. The modern nations of Israel will be greatly punished, will endure a time of great tribulation, calamity and destruction because they have rejected God and obedience to His law. If this is the case, then we must ask whether we see such conditions reflected in the society around us. 

So, do we see obedience to God’s law in the modern nations of Israel, or do we see rejection of God’s law?

Ephraim is one part of national Israel mentioned in the prophecy of Hosea 5:5.

It is understood that the descendants of Ephraim ended up in England and from there, spread out to other parts of the world, such as Australia. What then are the conditions we currently observe in England and the wider United Kingdom of Great Britain?

The Secularization of Britain

During the 2020 COVID restrictions, The Prime Minister, Mr. Rishi Sunak (at that time, the Chancellor of the Exchequer) said of the United Kingdom in discussing his plans for celebration of Diwali, a Hindu festival, “…of course this is a secular country…”    Diwali celebrations ‘will be difficult’, says Rishi Sunak

“Secular” means not subject to, or connected with, religious matters. So has the Christian country of the United Kingdom in fact become a country of all religions, or none?

The Office for National Statistics reports that the 2021 census results indicated only 46% of the population considered themselves to be “Christian”, while a total of 10% belonged to all the other non Judeo-Christian religions (Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Sikh).

The biggest surprise? That 37% (22 million people) do not consider that they identify with or belong to any religion. Whether Mr Sunak is correct to say that the United Kingdom is “a secular country” or not, it is apparent that a majority of the population do not consider a belief in or obedience to the God of the Bible to be part of their lives.

Hosea 5:7 says: “They have dealt treacherously with the LORD, For they have begotten pagan children”. The national census would certainly support this statement of scripture.

The 2021 Census was not the only data gathering exercise carried out at that time. The Government also reported upon the rates of abortion within England and Wales. In 2021, 214,256 legal abortions were carried out, with 99% of those being funded by the NHS (the National Health Service).

It is reported this number is the highest since the Abortion Act was introduced with Royal Assent (explicit approval by the Monarch) in 1967.

The numbers belie the horror that they actually represent. 214,256 lives of potential children of God, made in His image, taken before they were even born. We don’t know what those children would have looked like or who they would have grown up to be, but God does, and He feels their loss keenly.

Hosea 5: 1-3 says: “Hear this, O priests!  Take heed, O house of Israel! Give ear, O house of the king! For yours is the judgment, Because you have been a snare to Mizpah

And a net spread on Tabor. The revolters are deeply involved in slaughter, Though I rebuke them all. I know Ephraim, And Israel is not hidden from Me; For now, O Ephraim, you commit harlotry; Israel is defiled.

The Governments and leaders of this world are involved in and guilty of murder at many levels, but none more base or despicable than the murder of innocent babies in the womb of their mothers. The Bible tells us that they are not forgotten, because God sees and passes judgement.

Thankfully, there is a time yet in the future when all such innocent lives will be restored and have their chance to live and choose to obey God.

National Governments are given authority by God and He expects them to do His will, to “defend the poor and fatherless; Do justice to the afflicted and needy. Deliver the poor and needy; Free them from the hand of the wicked (Psalm 82: 3-4).

Instead, though God in judgement of Israel and Ephraim says what he has found in them:

For the leaders of this people cause them to err, And those who are led by them are destroyed.  (Isaiah 9:16)

The current priorities of the UK Government are declared to be addressing inflation, growing the economy, reducing national debt, reducing NHS waiting lists and preventing illegal immigration.

These might seem to be reasonable goals for a human government, but what the people really need is a government that will turn to God and lead the people to do the same.

Scripture indicates that the people of Israel will indeed turn to God in repentance, but not before great tribulation, not before they are cast down and laid to ruin. Only then, will they wake up and return to the LORD their God.

“O Israel, return to the LORD your God, For you have stumbled because of your iniquity; Take words with you, And return to the LORD”. (Hosea 14:1-2)

“Those who dwell under his shadow shall return; They shall be revived like grain, and grow like a vine”.  “Ephraim shall say, What have I to do anymore with idols? I have heard and observed him. I am like a green cyprus tree; Your fruit is found in Me” (Hosea 14: 7-8)

Reading the prophecies of Hosea is like reading the headlines of the newspapers.

The world around us has grown terribly evil and corrupt. God sees all and He has a very definite plan to bring to repentance firstly the modern nations of Israel, then in time all the nations of the world.

If God in His mercy has granted us knowledge, and we see the fall and ruin of Ephraim on the horizon, what should the wise with understanding do?

Who is wise? Let him understand these things. Who is prudent? Let him know them. For the ways of the LORD are right; The righteous walk in them, But transgressors stumble in them.  (Hosea 14:9)
